"Overpriced"

7.0

Beautiful camp in the desert. Our dome was spacious and had a bathroom with a shower and toilet. We did have hot water for the shower. Dune bashing and sand boarding were fun activities. Food was good as well. Staff very friendly and kind. Wifi works by the lobby but not in the rooms

The hidden fees on transportation are wild. We did not know the transportation wasn’t included from the designated parking lot until after our nonrefundable booking. We didn’t feel this experience was worth the total price we paid. Expect to pay several hundreds of US dollars if you go here. We only did the dune bashing with Bedouin house, sand boarding, dinner and transportation from the designated parking. It cost us over $750 USD for a single night stay. The transportation price needs to be included in the price up front.

"Bad"

1.0

The location , the ideas of the dooms and using solar power in the camp.

Not sure where to start : 1- there was no one ro check us in upon arrival and we weighted like 30 min till the guy arrived in the camp.and when he arrived he didn't seem to be bothered by making us wait , he was just into the payment process and that's it . 2- when finally getting our room , he didnt communicate anything to us like what is our room number ? What are the breakfast timings ,etc and him and hus helpers were walking Miles infeont of us with no welconinf words. 3-it is not allowed to have your dom key, so you can't lock your room when you leave the room !!!!! 4- there is no AC in the room, just a small fan which is partially working. So it is impossible to stay in the room during the day. No hot water .the sheet were full of sand . I mean for the price we paid , you'd expect way more. 5- This is the best : when asked for dinner, as no one told us about the timing, they said usually 8pm but today we are running late so. 9pm. Bur that was not a big deal ...when we finally went in to get dinner , there were rats running around the restaurant and the staff was just looking at them and not saying or doing anything!!!!!! Seriously where is the luxury they are talking about???? 6-You really feel unwelcome all the guests are on thier own. You barely see staff around . I have stayed in more cheaper places in wahiba sands and they way better . One thing for sure , NEVER AGAIN ! Definitely not worth the money as it not cheap

Good location and tidy, very nice views and quiet!

More love for the camp would suit it better, some music and / or a bonfire. The camp is rather pricey for what you get. Dinner is 12 OMR per person and night and is not included. It’s a buffet and 24 OMR for two people is a bit high, considering that the camp is only 30min away from the next big town

"Very good"

the hotel is very beautiful, in the middle of wahiba sand, with very good service and extremely comfortable. the staff was also very nice. the sunrise is stunning ! i however found it a bit too expensive, especially since they charge additional 100 dollars for the SUV pick up back and forth to drive you to the camp.

"friendly helpful staff great location but the place needs looking after."

4.0

the location, the staff and the dinner

the ac in the dome was too noisy it was really stuffy inside the dome. we had to pay extra to be picked up from the pick up point to the camp side and back. It should be free . The breakfast was bad.

"Decent experience, however very overpriced!!"

6.0

It was definitely a cool experience staying in the dome tent, watching the sunset from atop the Sand Dunes and watching the sunrise from the other side, also the campfire at night with the traditional Knafe dessert was excellent!!

The price for the stay was a little too much for what was provided, they also charge way too much for a simple transport from the meeting point to the campsite, may be best to lower the price on the transfer to the camp or include in the price as it's a very short distance and it doesn't justify the pricing. The Shisha was not worth it at all, I was really looking forward to enjoying shisha in the desert, however, they had no proper flavors, they just had mint and it tasted burnt, I stop smoking it after 5 minutes of use.

"Pleasant"

6.0

Large, comfy bed & bedroom with large well equipped private shower/toilet. Good lights and electric sockets. Good dinner and adequate breakfast. Good for sunsets and sunrises. Great quiet location 30kms plus into the desert.

Changed its name (now called Presidential Desert Camp) and management. 1st year of operation, and even though only 1 other couple there the night we stayed, manager (jordanian) seemed a bit stressy with the 2 staff. Mgr wouldn't let our Omani guide in to see our tent. Location difficult to find using google maps. No water for washing etc in morning as problem with pipes (probably quickly fixed after breakfast). No spa as advertised. Camp too well lit all night to see stars properly.
