Glamping in Wiltshire in our luxury Shepherds Hut

Beautifully peaceful, well equipped and spotlessly clean

Difficult to find (watch out for a sign saying "Retreat" on the north side of the road). The toilet and shower are in a separate block. Fine in a May heatwave (as we were) but not so much fun when it's chilly.

Great location for walking and exploring some of the local ancient sites. I bought the 40 walks in Wiltshire book with me and there was ample from that to keep me busy. Considering it was the end of March the cabin kept super warm and cosy. Well angled for privacy. Very clean in the cabin and the bathroom with nice hot shower. It would also be a fun safe place for children in a fenced off paddock with the donkeys, ponies and alpacas to enjoy. Equally would be a great cycling or riding base camp.

A bit of kindling to help use the fire pit. Not something I remember easily and hard to purchase for one use as you only need a handful. Let people know the what three words for the track entrance so they can find it straight away. That being said it was straight forward to locate.

our stay at the shepherds hut at the retreat was absolutely fantastic. Stunning location, full of character and charm. Loved be surrounded by, horse , donkeys and alpacas. The hosts were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We will definitely be returning here soon. Nicky and Jules

It was lovely very comfortable bbq tea milk and towels were provided. Shower and toilet were very clean and warm radiator was on all the time. Outside seating had perfect view over the countryside. Shetland ponies and donkeys in adjacent field were very friendly and you can touch them. Bed was very comfortable. Ist time in a shepherd hut highly recommend it.
