Historic Inn

I booked this hotel two months in advance through Travelocity, but then the next day, called Historic Inn to cancel. The owner said he could not cancel my reservation, only Travelocity could. But he took down my name and date I had reserved, clearly with no intention to actually doing anything about it. I called Travelocity customer service. Travelocity had no record of my reservation. Sure enough, I was charged for the room I never used. I would find out later, there was a typo in my email address so I received no confirmation. I called Historic Inn owner and told him this. He said he could not do anything for me. Travelocity also called him. He refused to offer any refund.

Loved our stay at this convenient & walkable location to historic district. The owners are welcoming, helpful & keep the hotel clean. Free parking is a big plus. The restaurants that surround this hotel and across the street are fabulous and steps away. This hotels location is close enough to historic district but not to far away that you can quietly relax when you lay your head down from the hustle & bustle that’s going on in the historic district. Definitely going back and staying because I was very comfortable.

The room I was given was old, small, worn, and smelled old. There was a lot of road noise. The room did seem to be clean. Based on recent reviews I expected a nicely refurbished hotel. Quite disappointed with the reality. A lesson to stick with trusted brands of hotels when booking in advance (the payment was nonrefundable by the time I saw the hotel in person).

Very clean, very comfortable, great walking distance from downtown, very hospitable

The property is retro and clean. Staff was friendly and exceptional. Easy walk across the bridge to old fort and downtown.

It is on a fairly busy street, but it suites down at night.

The facilities were super clean and they have a free coffee bar

It was updated and microwave and refrigerator was a great touch

Everything was great! Owners do everything them selves. Older place that has been fully renovated! Would definitely stay again.
