Great place to stay! The room and bathroom are spick and span. The communal space/living area is beautiful and comfortable. Paul was very responsive. I’d love to come back and bring my bike next time.

We loved our time at the Traveler's Rest! Super-cute b&b! Seamless keyless entry, gorgeous private bathrooms with cool industrial touches, cozy comfy beds, and the owners are so sweet. We can't wait to come back!

"Friendly, personable, lovely old place"

10.0

Very friendly, personable owners. Great place. Nice schwag (I bought a shirt). Lovely old place with a homey feel. They gave us all sorts of information and know a lot about the area and little nooks of town.

"Hostel Newbies"

8.0

Our stay was just fine, but it started out a bit rocky. I never received an email from Hotels.com with our check-in instructions and door code. When we arrived, checked again for the email while it was pouring down rain. Luckily, we found a phone number of the hostel and talked with owner that walked us through getting in the front door. Once in, we found the hostel very charming. We were surprised by the small room and lack of TV. Our own private bathroom was across the hall. But the code to get in the bathroom is the same code as the front door. And since we didn’t get the email from Hotels.com, we had to contact the owner again to get the code. The next morning, we were able to meet and talk with the owners, who were very friendly and told us all about the history of the building.

"Amazing buildning"

10.0

The concept of living. The buildning was totally amazing and beautiful. Free street parking around the block. No problems in finding a spot. Great breakfast.

Bathroom being outside, still private but you need to go outside your room. Check in was tricky, instructions on where to find the keys could be clearer, put a colour light on the desk to be able to differenciate between all wooden doors and desks there are in the hall.

Our stay was utterly delightful. The owners responded promptly to my texted questions before we arrived; this turned out to be a preview of impeccable customer service and a wonderful experience overall. The house is gorgeous, the kitchen comfortable, and the people fun to talk to. My husband and our two teenagers were initially hesitant about the detached bathroom. But we all found the arrangements to be great. The bathroom is completely private and toiletries can be left inside with the door locked. The location was convenient for driving to PNC Park and walking to restaurants and the Monongahela Incline. Not only would we stay there again, we'll recommend it to everyone.

"Surprising in a good way, would stay again"

10.0

This is an older building kept with care. We weren’t really sure what we were going to walk into but we wanted to try something different and this definitely fit that. Very clean and cozy feeling. -The owners were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They’re very knowledgeable about the area and the history of the building. They are reachable by phone/text, no landline phone in the room. -Our room and bathroom across the hall were very clean, not even cobwebs. -Free street parking. -Small variety of breakfast included with the stay. -I only bring up eco-friendliness because it was a star rating option. The hall lights and bathroom lights are on timers, no tv in the room, no in-room temp control for the ac, (but it was cool and there was a fan we could’ve used) all saving on electricity. There are shampoo/conditioner/soap bottles available that you can pour into reusable ramekins saving on small unrecyclable travel size bottles. Breakfast was set out with regular plates and silverware, avoiding paper and plastic. Given this is a hotel and sheets/towels/rooms need to be cleaned with each party’s use, the only thing I feel could be improved in this area is a green waste basket for food scraps to be composted. -They had a cute space in the lobby for merch, which they helped us find in our size, and they made a few nearby food recommendations. Great experience with a small business and we would stay there again!

"Great boutique hotel"

10.0

It’s feels like home. The owners are super nice and happy to provide recommendations and help if needed. The place has been beautifully renovated and the complimentary breakfast is delicious: croissants, pastries, bread, eggs and coffee or tea. Very easy to park around and close to everything.
