"Amazing Hotel in Kanazawa!"

We recently stayed at the Hotel Sanraku Kanazawa and loved it! The hotel is beautiful and staff is so friendly and welcoming. You feel like a VIP here and everything is first class. The rooms are very clean and super quiet. The restaurant is great and food is delicious! Location is wonderful as you are within walking distance from everything, including Kanazawa Station, Kanazawa Castle Park, Nagamachi Samurai District, and the Higashi Chaya District. You can also take taxis to these main destinations and each ride is around 5-minutes and 1,000JPY. It was our first visit to Kanazawa and the Hotel Sanraku made our experience very special! We will return!

The Hotel Sanraku Kanazawa was excellent! It was our first stay here and first visit to Kanazawa. The hotel was beautiful, staff members were excellent, and dining at the hotel was excellent too. Location was also great! Walking distance (15-20 minutes) was great to all major sights, from Kanazawa Station, to Higashi Chaya District, to Kanazawa Castle, to Nagamachi Samurai District. Of course, you can also take a taxi (which we did as well on a few occasions) to these locations and it would be a 5-7 minute taxi ride! Staff was very attentive and friendly and always made you feel at home. We will be back for sure!

"Excellent hotel, shame about the bar supervisor"

This is a five star hotel with good rooms, amenities and generally lovely and helpful staff. It is conveniently located and has thoughtful facilities. Front desk staff are exceptionally helpful, especially Shin who went out of her way to assist. However, on returning to the hotel this evening we approached the bar/lounge welcome desk to ask whether we could have a coffee and delicious patisserie from the selection on display. The response was ‘no tea, no coffee, wait’ in a very dismissive manner and loud voice - intentionally - and we were left standing there. Eventually the supervisor instructed another young member of staff to ‘give them cake’ whilst talking about us. Their colleague served us perfectly and we were able to take away our pastries. Totally alien to the service we received from others in the hotel and a lesson: don’t presume that Europeans do not understand what is being said about them and language isn’t always a barrier. Such a shame to end a wonderful visit on a surly note.

Very comfortable hotel in an excellent location for walking to the main areas of Kanazawa. We had a quiet garden view room. Nice service at front desk and from housekeeping. Easy 15 minute walk from train station. Tip: a lovely lady does massages directly across the street.
