Picturesque views from this beautifully kept inn. Lovely fresh cooked food and a good pint. Relaxed environment.

Use anything but satnav to find your way around. Signals outside are hopeless but great connection in the inn.

Beautiful old pub full of character in stunning countryside. The food was one of the best meals we've ever eaten. Breakfast delicious too. Lovely wine by the glass if you didn't want a bottle. Staff so friendly. Rooms comfy and quiet and stylish. Front beer garden gets full sun.

All aspects of the stay were excellent, from friendly staff, service and the quality and cleanliness of the rooms. Could not fault.

The inn is a beautiful period property with beautifully maintained gardens and ample parking. The rooms have been modernised with careful consideration, very practical and clean. The food choice is perfect and the breakfast exceptional.

A last minute booking and my first stay here. Absolutely great stay! Evening meal was excellent as was breakfast. The room was great and the bed was sooo comfy, really exceptional quality bed and bedding. Very friendly staff and owner. Highly recommend 👌

Everything about the place exceeded our expectations. The room was delightful - and had nice touches like a Nespresso machine, and a small bottle of fresh milk in the mini-fridge. We had dinner there, and the food was way beyond what we expected. I had venison cooked three different ways. Breakfast was fantastic. Came with excellent sourdough toast. (As good as my sourdough!) The inn is close to Shining Tor, which is a great walk for hikers.

Nothing much to dislike. The outside of the pub looks a little worn around the edges.
