Great central location, a pleasant enough second floor apartment (but no lift), clean and comfortable even if it possibly lacking any charm. It could do with some personal touches but it meets expectations nonetheless. The kitchen was missing some desirable items: only one wine glass, no potato peeler, only one tea towel, no colander and I might have hoped for a few basic cooking items like salt - although there was washing up liquid and capsules for the washing machine - but otherwise reasonably well equipped. Without a dishwasher, plug for the sink, washing up bowl or draining area, washing up was not easy In the sitting room some net curtains would have afforded some privacy.

Location

Shower was clogged from day 1 and water was flowing outside the shower, which made showers less enjoyable. Would be nice to have a proper cutting board, a set of wine glasses for the number of guests staying.

A lovely modern apartment in a very central location. I stayed here for 2 weeks in January working remotely. The Internet speed is very good. I loved the modern interior and the location. Great communication with the host too, clear instructions about check in and check out. I had a great stay - thank you :)

This is not a dislike but just something to have in mind - the building opposite is very close and when you open the balcony doors, it can get loud because of the central location. However, once balcony doors are closed, no noise from outside.

Very comfortable property in the heart of Funchal, great location for both the Old Town around Zona Velha and the cable car to the East, and the more upscale, 18th and 19th century area around Av. Arriaga to the West. Air conditioning very welcome even in mid-June as the humidity can be oppressive. Also very useful to have a washing machine especially if you're planning to be active and hike in the heat, and useful to have a kitchen to make a sandwich for your hikes. Really appreciated the comfy bed and big shower, with plenty of surfaces and closet space to put your things, the well-stocked kitchen, and also great communication from the hosts/company who operates these flats over WhatsApp, with very clear instructions on how to access the property and ability to leave suitcases in a room downstairs for a few hours after check-out and enjoy your last day in Funchal.

Be aware that you are very close to a main road, so it's only normal to expect some traffic noise, especially if you want to sleep with the window open to get some cool air at night. We used ear plugs and we were fine. Also, the street that the flat is on is very narrow, so you are very close to the property across the road, but again this wasn't really an issue for us, just something to keep in mind.
