"Excellent hotel in Thanjavur near New bus stand"

The La Orchid is a fabulous hotel but at least 5 km away from the Big temple. It’s closer to the medical college end of the town. Also only a ₹100 auto rickshaw distance from the new bus stand. The name is a little misleading. Otherwise I would have given a five star. My check in was at late evening but the welcome was warm. Rooms were clean and airy. With a central air conditioning which was nice to combat the heat of early summer. Bed and mattress was comfortable. The furnitures were ergonomic. there was a working table for my laptop and there was a nice little sitting semi sofa-like thing to sit on and watch tv while sipping coffee which is quite unique and I liked it. The coffee maker and the coffee powder were there. The coffee was a coffee bag which is again unique and flavorful. Bathroom was small but space utilization was good. The door almost touches the closet. Toiletries were provided and good running water was available. movement-sensing light was top class. Will stay again
