The hotel is a few minutes walk from the centre but offers a wonderful quiet spot on praia da malhada. It is well maintained and the staff are wonderful!

The staff is extremely friendly. Unfortunately, that is not enough to compensate for the shortcomings of the hotel.

Although we had one of the most expensive rooms in the hotel, if not the most expensive (Bungalow with sea-view and jacuzzi), the room was old, the furniture basic, the hot water didn’t work on our arrival nor in the last two days, the shower worked like a water dropper, the jacuzzi was a relic belonging to a museum and the room illumination super dark. Beach towels were hard to get if you were not one of the first ones asking for them in the morning. The pool, inspired by the local “lagoas” is dark and not inspiring (not blue as in the pictures). Finally, the roof of most of the rooms were in bad shape. There was no water coming in but the picture was not that of a hotel pretending to be five-star. All in all, you get the feeling of paying European five-star hotel prices for barely a three-star location. After some comments to the staff, we were encouraged to post our reviews. They commented that the majority of points had already been escalated to management without being properly addressed.

Fantastic hotel, beautiful design and decoration. Perfect breakfast and super friendly staff.
