Close to the city center, good value for the money.

No in-hotel breakfast option.

We spent two nights at the Hotel Bistrik which is just a short walk from the old town. The location was one of the best things about it. We chose it because it had on site car parking. The car park is in the basement of the hotel but the entrance is from the road behind the hotel. The instructions we received explained this but there was no indication from the strteet as to which doors were those to the garage. The entry was narrow.

The hotel was very disappointing. It is certainly not four star as claimed. It looks as if good quality materials were originally used but they have not been maintained. Everything needs to be properly cleaned too. Our room was no 301 on the top floor in the attic. The windows in the ceiling needed poles to open and close them and to operate the blinds but none were provided. The doors of the wardrobe were loose. One of the bedside lights did not work. We mentioned this to the receptionist but nothing was done about it while we were there. The cheapest, poorest quality slippers were provided but we would not have wanted to stand with bare feet on the dirty carpet. The mugs and kettle suggested that tea and coffee making facilities would be available but there was just one sachet of thyme tea (but plenty of sugar). The bathroom was large with a shower over the bath but there was no screen so you had to be very careful when using it. The tap over the washbasin was rickety. At least there was room to place your toiletries. There was no lift. It looked as if there might once have been a bar and a room for breakfast but no such facilities were available.

Internet is the worst even and when you ask about it the lady said: it is ok. If you plan to work here, your are lost
