"Very basic room and property with a comfy bed."

Very comfortable bed. Quiet area. 1 mile from downtown.

Overpowering smell of Lysol cleaner in the room. Unfriendly staff when checking in. Very loud A/C unit.

"no staff to check me in"

Easy refund.

Their listing stated they were open for check-in until 10pm. I arrived at 9:40 and there was no one to check me in and no one answered the phone. I could see my paperwork and key on the counter in the office, waited an hour, then left to check in elsewhere.
