I had to pay a "courier" 30 Euros to drop my keys to me because I arrived at 10pm...and had to be in CASH otherwise I'd have had no access and needed to find somewhere else to sleep for the night (I was informed in no uncertain terms by the landlords) First of all I don't think it's right that people have to pay extra for arrivals after 7pm for accommodation in a tourist town like that , and second, forcing people to pay in cash is a huge burden especially for people who don't tend to carry cash ( as I didn't and because I forgot to get cash at the airport on arrival after a looong day, I got to the property and had to drive out again hunting for an ATM miles away, when payment by card would have been just ideal! Also the lock on the apartment door was the craziest I've ever seen in all my travels. There's evidently a lot of technique to opening it which I wasn't appraised of by the agent, and I went out for dinner and drinks only to arrive back at the apartment and spent half a n hour just trying to get in to it!

Collection of the keys and the online check-in was simple, the apartment is located in a good area and easy walk from the marina. The apartment was clean, off-road parking was available nearby.

The apartment smelt like a dirty washing machine. Although clean, the apartment was old and tired, with spare z-beds propped up against the wall. Although advertised as a double bed, it was 2 singles pushed together with the pitfalls that provides. I have stayed in much better for less.

Very poor check in. Staff couldn’t be bothered to answer phone( 3 staff) and it took use 1 hour to find the office. No one bothered to tell us there was a knack of opening the door so we were on the phone for another 10 minutes before we could get in. The apartment was not clean and the bed was very uncomfortable so we had a bad night’s sleep.

Very disappointing that there were major renovation works at 2 apartments very close to this one. The apartment opposite and beside us were having tiled floors and kitchens replaced along with the associated noise. Specially between the hours of 4-8pm!! This happened over at least 7 days of our 14 day holiday. Homing were contacted and were sympathetic. They offered to move us but the location was too far away from Vilamoura. Not their fault or responsibility that these works were started during our stay but had we been notified in advance we would not have booked. The apartment owners need to be more aware when taking bookings to avoid this situation.
