Fraca flexibilidade na alteração de datas - a reserva que supostamente era flexível, não foi: não foi possível cancelar (apesar de o pedido ter sido feito no mesmo dia da reserva), não foi possível mudar a data (porque as datas disponíveis tinham um valor inferior ao pago na reserva) e o check-in tardio (21h) tinha um custo adicional de 30€ a pagar em dinheiro na entrega. No momento do check-in, como afinal nos atrasámos, acabámos por entrar na casa com código para receber a chave - ou seja, não havia necessidade da complicação do check-in tardio cobrado. Para além disso: Loiça de cozinha pouco limpa, sem detergente, sal, azeite, e a torradeira fazia o quadro disparar

Limpieza y las camas no eran cómodas

There are so many good things to say about Homing Beach 1: it is in a fabulous location five minutes from a spectacular beach and far enough away from the crowds of Albuferia; it is close to a fully stocked and well-priced supermarket and great restaurants. It is very quiet. However, there are some small things that have a big impact that could be improved to make it an even greater holiday venue. While one tea towel is provided for each week you stay, there was no means to keep them clean and of use. In 25 years plus of staying in self-catering apartments, we have never had a situation where no cleaning materials at all were provided. We had to buy washing-up liquid, dishcloths, pan scrubbers, washing powder and surface cleaner. Similarly, there was no plug that fitted the bath and the sink and bidet shared a plug. Amazingly, many of the light fittings had no bulb, including one of the bedside lamps. The apartment had been cleaned before we arrived, but not appropriately ventilated resulting in black mould on the bathroom tiles and in the shower-head. Also, instruction on how to stay in the apartment - where the recycling facilities are, important phone numbers etc. - would have been very useful (and were expected). Our first task on arrival was to mop the floor because the fridge door hadn’t been closed properly and water had leaked. This is the first time we have rented an apartment from a company; usually we choose private owners. I am not sure if that is why we felt more like customers than guests. I understand the profit motive, but not to make the changes suggested seems like penny-pinching.

The location is really nice to go to the beach walking. Nice restaurants close by.

When we arrived the appartament was not clean (there was sand on the floor) and the dishware was dirty (I jad to clean every single plate and fork, knife, recipient that I used). There was no sponge or detergent for washing the dishes available, so I had to go out at 20h in the evening in the day of my arrival to buy it so that I could clean and prepare food for my children. It was also not properly equipped as there were no pans or breakfast mugs or cereal mugs. The microwave was dirty. There were cast lamps, a broken trashcan, a stove burner not working properly, the sofa bed is broken (only able to stay in sitting position when against the wall) and a faulty switch in the bathroom. I reported all of this in the morning after we arrived to the rental agency. The answers I received were rude and nearly agressive when I was always cordial. I felt harassed repeatedly for reporting these issues as the tone was getting more rude. They entered the apartment in our absence and without informing us. We had all our stuff there when they entered without permission. I was out of words at this stage. I ended up going to one of their stores and speaking with the person there. They offered to pay back the cleaning service that I had paid together with the rental as compensation. No additional equipment was put at our service. No excuses from the rental agency. During the week we also found out that the fire extinguisher had expired 1 year ago and that the emergency kit was nearly empty. This violates the minimum safety requirements for an AL in Portugal. It was not safe for us or our kids. We did not move as we could not find an accommodation alternative on such short notice. This was the worst rental we ever booked in 20 years.
