The Starlight Motor Inn

This place is fantastic. The new owners have done a stellar job giving this vintage motor hotel a new lease on life. What a fun, clean, aesthetic, comfortable place to stay.

The easy, contactless check-in and check-out process was great. The room was very cute and updated. The Burgundy Lounge was a cool and comfortable spot to have a drink before ending the night. The hotel is also located a very short drive away from downtown Charleston - which was great for our convenience during our trip.

The room was a little small, and the bed was not the most comfortable we’ve slept in. The location, while convenient, was not in the best area, and the neighborhood was pretty rough while we were walking around.

Great refurbished property. In an industrial area

Updated midmod look with a 60's--70's vibe. More Mod Squad than Brady Bunch. Era appropriate music playing outside, but not too loud. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Clean bathroom. Mini fridge in the room. No elevator, but we were able to get our room switched to 1st floor and parked right outside the room.

The Starlight Motor Inn overall was a great stay. The check in experience was great. Did everything digital and was able to park after the drive in and go straight to the room. The room was nice, clean and inviting. Large walk in shower and great towels and soaps provided. Room was very updated and the vibe of the hotel was carried into the room. The pool, pool bar and lobby area made me feel like I was in Palm Springs with carring the Mid-Century Modern feel throughout the property. The grounds was very clean an offered lots of parking. Yes the surrounding area is not the greatest location and amenities. So you will have to uber or drive to do activities and as this is in North Charleston not close to the downtown district but was 10 minutes from the convention center which was the main reason of our stay. Would stay here again.

The vibe, the lounges

Location isn’t the best but worked for the concert at Firefly. But would work for any event in the area. Or if you prefer N Chas over downtown.
