BlueGem Motel

Overall I was glad to stay in the motel. A late football game @ UF necessitated a motel stay as driving home super late at night wouldn't have been fun or safe. The price of the room was fair. The motel property has been updated nicely. We had no issue getting into the room with the electronic key sent directly to my phone. We never had to go to the office/front desk to check in or out. I am very impressed with the updates to this really old motel that was getting more & more run down over the last several decades. The main portion of the room was updated & clean. That being said the bathroom needs to be at the top of list for an immediate priority update. The shower & tub insert were certainly replaced but it doesn't appear anything else has been touched. Very old, grimy looking tile on the floors & walls, old sink, old toilet, old mirror, old tile mounted soap tray & tooth brush holder (ick-get rid of them all together), old window, messy paint job, old light, etc. The bathroom needs to get taken down to the studs & completely renovated. Due to the age of the bathroom nothing looked clean b/c how can a decades old room possibly get cleaned well enough to sparkle, especially given the property was previously owned & managed by different folks. As I said above, overall the property & the main portion of the room were updated & clean & I was glad to stay at the BlueGem Motel.

I did not stay. I got there early. I had to leave the East Coast before the hurricane Milton got there. The front desk said my room was not avaliable yet. Understandable. I waited. Then people started to check out, and I heard cancelations. The front desk lady said she would ask the manager if I could have one of those rooms. When the manager arrived she was unfriendly, frankly rude when she scolded me for being there too early, and said she could not assign me any other room bc I had reserved through Hotel.com. It was a little too much to handle in a devastating hurricane uncertainties. I canceled my reservation and left.

We stayed here out of convenience for a wedding.

We could not stay because of Hurricane Milton damage to our home. Instead awaiting the passing of the storm here we needed to rush home to salvage the flooding in our home.

Staff was great rooms were great and clean the beds were so comfortable

After a rough start with a reservation mixed up by the motel, everything was taken care of and our stay was great. The beds were very comfortable. Plenty of room.

Large room, clean, nice tv, microwave refrigerator….

We had a wonderful time. Great stay, clean room.

Wonderful covered outside area built for kids. Rooms were clean and spacious.

I love the covered pavilion and grills. Makes it easy for travel with kids and groups.
