Host & Stay - Castle View

A nice property in a convenient location

The bedroom curtains were not blackout so the light woke us very early in the morning.

comfortable beds, clean and tidy. facilities were good.

Nothing, the only thing that could have been improved was having early access. On arrival we were allowed to drop the bags off inside but not allowed to park the car up and leave on the drive. The house had been been cleaned, this meant that we had to park in the center car park and later park the car on the drive after 4.

Lovely property, great position. Well kept and very clean. Only difficulty was parking. Think description should state that there is only 1 parking space at property and permit parking on road. Have to park on local roads and pay for parking.

Not happy with the compulsory insurance: this should have been stated at the booking stage

The kitchen was a good size and had everything we needed for a short 2 night stay. The beds were very comfortable and the house felt spacious as there were plenty of rooms.

Nice modern property, liked the books and artwork, Handy for the cathedral and town. Nice view of castle

Full length mirror would have been handy as we were going to my daughter’s wedding . 1st floor bedroom a little small

We weren’t provided breakfast so can’t comment. Beds were very conmfortable, good fasciitis in house.

Upstairs back bedroom was cold. When we arrived the radiator was not on, we had to Fitflop a lot with it to try and get heat out of it. Thankfully one of our party likes being cooler! Lack of mirrors! No mirror in en-suite, and bedroom only had a very small stand mirror which you couldn’t see your whole face in. The only adequate mirror was in the downstairs toilet. Thankfully we had no men with us who needed to shave. Other places we have stayed in have had small welcome pack, ie small milk and butter, bread, coffee &tea. Nothing special but has been most welcome. Also small range of kitchen essentials, ie sugar, herbs, oil would have been very helpful.

The house is well located for the city centre, an easy 10 minute walk. Very comfortable and well equipped with the exception of mirrors - a mirror in the upstairs bathrooms would be great.

We liked everything about the house with the exception mentioned above - the lack of mirrors - otherwise you could't fault it
