the welcome was good. The staff was nice. Breakfast not much choice. the view of the lake was magnificent. the price was too expensive compared to the condition of the lodge.
It was a great stay! The man who lives on the property greeted us, showed us around, told us about breakfast in the morning and shared some history about the lodge. The lodge has a great view of the lake and we chose the room with the balcony so it was fantastic being able to go out and just sit and enjoy the view. The weather wasn't the greatest but nevertheless it was a great trip. The only thing that would have made it better was if the bed didn't squeak so bad and no matter how many times we tried to stay on our own sides of the bed, we kept sliding into the middle.
Lovely location, typical lodge house, small but quaint rooms. Booking was well handled. Upon arrival, we were informed by the care keeper, Rob, that our rooms for the 4 of us would not be together…and were told its not his problem, take it up with owner . A miserable, unfriendly character that will drive this place down if left to care for the patrons. Being world travelers, we always respect house rules. We had a beautiful terrasse next to one of the rooms, we set out for evening cocktails and cigars. Making sure the patio door was closed not to smoke out the room. We still went ahed and asked Mr Grumpy for an ashtray when he flamed up and told us to smoke our cigars by the firepit in the back. Okay …fair enough BUT cant make a fire !! So +200 mosquitos came to feast on us …..hell no ! We made our way to the porch, windows closed …. Just started to enjoy ourselves when Miserable Rob came barging out orders to go back to the fireless fire pit…with a miserable grunt attitude that basically says to us ….f off. Not representative of the Vermont hospitality…
Quaint house on a lake. Very serene. Beautiful breeze
Really charming place, really friendly host. Right near a beautiful lake, with lots of room to sit on the porch. A little warm upstairs in July, but we had a fan & a sliding door to let cooler air in at night.
Caretaker was just great.
Antiquated but homely.
My family and I had an amazing two night stay this weekend! The owner JP was friendly and kind and the property manager Ron was very kind! He was knowledgeable and helpful! We had a great time and will definitely be back!
It was like staying at a grandparents house. Lots of antiques. The porch was very pleasant and relaxing. The scenery was also great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone.
