This place was dangerous, dishonest, and deeply disturbing. It started with an extortion attempt. The villa staff demanded money for “ruined” bedsheets because the woman I was with had gotten blood on them, something that normally washes out without issue. The mattress was filthy before. When we asked for proof they had been washed and were still stained, they claimed the sheets had already been thrown away. No evidence, no transparency — just a demand for payment. I paid only to avoid escalation. The villa’s hair dryer malfunctioned and caught fire, damaging the property and my personal belongings. When I returned, the electricity was out and I noticed flickering light at the back of the villa — it was an active fire. No staff were present. I had to use a fire extinguisher myself. Instead of taking responsibility, the staff moved me to another villa. Later that night, when I tried to retrieve my belongings, I discovered the original villa had been chained shut with a padlock. The next morning, staff stalled when I asked for it to be unlocked. I eventually let myself in. At that point, the staff accused me of starting the fire and demanded compensation — despite the fact I wasn’t even there when it started. Thankfully, the woman I was with spoke Indonesian and could translate. During this confrontation, she told me the staff were discussing seizing my passport to stop me from leaving. I forced the staff out of the villa and told them to call the police if they believed their claims. My friend was visibly shaken and under pressure as they continued to harass her. When we tried to leave, one staff member physically restrained her scooter, preventing her from going. I had to intervene so she could escape. He then tried to grab my suitcase and only backed off after a clear warning. Even after we left, the harassment continued — repeated WhatsApp calls and messages to my friend demanding her ID, threatening to find her, and claiming they would involve the police.
