Villa Escargot Luxury in Costa Rei Beach

The location is 5* . Great size room. air con fully functional. good wifi, great pool, an amazing view and great sunloungers. The property is beautiful and has been renovated to a high standard and to wake up and have breakfast looking at the sea was wonderful.

We struggled with communication as the hotel manager did not speak English so we were unable to ask him questions about what to do in the area, or about things regarding our stay. We did not know what options there were for cooked breakfast as there was no menu and we were not told them. We only realised that you had to ask for cooked breakfast when we saw other tables getting it as they were able to speak Italian. The buffet breakfast was really poor, more like 2-3*. Very little to choose from and not enough of it. They need to decide if they want to be an air bnb or a hotel and if it is a hotel then there should be menus at breakfast or someone should come and serve you when you sit down. We should not have to go and find someone in order to get a coffee in the morning. Although it was highlighted as a feature of this property on the website, breakfast was not cooked by a chef but by the hotel manager, I could have cooked a better breakfast myself. We were told that we could have dinner at the property cooked by the chef but when we enquired about the price they were unable to let us know. The finishing in the bathroom was not 5* as the shower flooded the bathroom every time we had a shower, the water leaked out the seal at the bottom of the shower. The room needs a full length mirror so we can check outfits. In general it felt like they rely too much on the location and finish of the property when we all know that so much of the feeling of 5* comes from attentive service.

The experience was fantastic. The beach in front of the house is beautiful, the staff was helpful and nice, the rooms are comfortable, and the little town around has everything that you need.
