"Beautiful Villas Awesome Staff"

10.0

We had an amazing first time experience in Bali with 3 families in 3 villas. We were welcomed by staff who would do anything to help us, we had a cooked breakfast every morning and had a some tasty Balinese food made for lunch one day, by the lovely ladies who work there. Pools and gardens were kept beautiful , villas clean, beds comfy. Close to shops and restaurants, we didn’t have to go far for everything we needed. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a great Bali experience.

"Tropical oasis in heart of Seminyak"

10.0

Perfect location, delightful 3 bedroom, three bathroom, Balinese style villa with all necessary amenities. The villa opens onto the most beautiful tropical and well maintained garden (thanks to Putu). The jewel in the crown, is the sparkling pool that has a wonderful shallow ledge, ideal for families with younger children or for those older who can cool off and read at the same time. Ayu, unobtrusively looks after you during your stay. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Vila Poppy!

"Worth a stay"

8.0

Villa Poppy has great layout, lovely pool, beds comfy, bathrooms good, well furnished but could do with a couple of bean bag chairs when more than 3 people are there. Fantastic location right in the middle of Legian. It’s great as back from the road so pretty quiet. Air con works well. Love the idea of the filtered water machine that also has a boiling water option. Loved it thank you ❤️❤️

"Good family villa"

6.0

We enjoyed our stay at Villa Poppy with our family. The pool is great if you have little kids as there Is a shallow area for them to play in or great to just sit in with a drink. There is also plenty of garden area to pay in. Although the villa is looking a little tired the beds are comfy and there is enough seating for a large group. The hammock was a favourite too. There are a few books to enjoy for those who love to read. Ensure you bring the personal mozzie spray though as there is a lot of outdoor area. The bedrooms are the only closed in and air conditioned areas. The staff put mozzie coils out daily but if the mozzies like you you need to cover up. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. There is someone just outside 24hrs a day in case you need them. The location was good but a little difficult for taxis to get all the way down the gang. (Alleyway)

"Great Location and caters for all!"

8.0

Cleanliness 8/10 Location 9/10 This place is amazing! You can relax in the pool or watch a movie or make lunch! It has everything you need! The only downsides of this place is the power going out once in a while and a broken toilet lid in the upstairs bathroom. But if anything is needed the staff are soo helpful and on it quickly! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a family get away who like the open air Balinese style accommodation.

"Great villa"

10.0

Stayed here twice now in the space of 3 months. Great garden and pool area which my kids loved. The villa is not new but is very clean thanks to Ayu who comes in every day. Only downside was a few nights we had drunk idiots walking nearby and yelling to each other obviously on their way home from the nearby bars. Not the villas fault of course and it was only a couple of nights. We stayed on the top floor which gets more noise than downstairs so maybe put the heavy sleeper up there. Would stay again.

"Peace and calm in manic seminyak"

8.0

Seminyak during peak season is chaotic. Luckily 100m off the main huddle and bustle lies this gem. Quiet, tranquil, peaceful. Chilling on the hammock while the kids enjoyed the pool. Great. Close to the beach, excellent location. Ayu the helper was fantastic, ask her to cook dinner for you. Really glad we stayed here and will be back when next in Bali

"Charming with throwbacks to a more tranquil time"

10.0

Villa Poppy Stayed as an extended family of 5 people for 4 nights in late Nov/early Dec 2014. Communications with the booking agency through Trip Advisor were very efficient and timely. Transport service from airport was waiting at airport and efficiently delivered us to the Villa in the late evening. Return service was also on time. (About 20 minutes in low traffic and up to maybe 40 in peak hour?) Villa is down a small laneway (called Gang Bima) off the main Jalan (road) Seminyak. Gang (laneway) Bima runs parallel to and on the Southern side of Jalan Camplung (also known as Jalan Dhyana Pura). Both these two Jalan’s are major shopping and entertainment streets but in the Gang and within the high-walled villa compound the atmosphere is very relaxed and private. It has been well documented by other reviewers that it is not far from Sante Fe Bar and Grill and there is music noise from around 9pm – 3am. Also there is a 2 story building being constructed on the southern side of Gang Bima directly opposite and partially overlooking the Villa, but neither of these activities caused us any significant disturbance. The villa is within easy walking distance of the larger Bintang Supermarket (head East along Gang Bima and turn south (right) onto Jalan Seminyak). It’s about a 20 minute walk to Gado-Gado beach or a 5 minute $3 taxi ride (just walk around the corner to Jalan Camplung and pick up a cab from there). Overall the location is excellent if you want walking access to the shops, spas and bars etc., but enjoy villa privacy as well. The villa is an older style with thatched roof and plenty of timber trim and Balinese charm. The room configuration as shown on the plans on Trip Advisor are accurate as are the general room and garden photos and descriptions. The configuration is: three bedrooms with master bedroom with ensuite and second twin-bed room with adjacent bathroom on ground floor. Third bedroom is up a step timber-flight of stairs and is a double bed with ensuite. Each had airconditioning units which were quiet and effective. All have mosquito nets which in my view is a must in Bali (90% of new villa’s in Bali don’t provide these so you are obliged to “Nuke” the bedrooms each night with mossie spray only to find them return to feed on you as you sleep!) downstairs open plan dining, living and sitting areas, kitchen and TV nook providing plenty of seating and relaxing options all cooled by overhead fans. This whole area looks out westwards to the delightful garden and pool the pool is well designed, elegant and practical with a shallow wading/entry platform at on end. It gets plenty of sun so is warm even in the rain! The garden is expansive by Bali villa standards and is very picturesque. There is a thatched bale at the far end overlooking the pool plus recliners for the sun worshippers. The villa is very clean and well maintained but it does not compare with a lot of the very flash and sleek villa complexes being built all over the island but I wouldn’t trade the older world charm for the surficial glitz of many such newer places. The villa is staffed by two delightful ladies Ilu and Ayu who arrive in the morning to cook your breakfast (if requested) and perform general house duties. They speak excellent English and are great cooks and always have a friendly smile. They can cook additional meals and do shopping and run errands but please be mindful that these should be met with additional (modest) gratuities. There is a security-cum-gardener Gede who is also very friendly and discrete. As with all Balinese they each have extended families who can serve as drivers tour guides etc. We had Putu for a tour of Uluwata who was excellent. At the price point of around US$300 per night off-peak we found this villa to suit our needs very well. The western owners have obviously considered the needs of guests and where feasible meet these needs very well. Lovely stay… very happy to recommend
