"Great Location, But Hygiene Issue Was a Letdown"

🛏️ The beds were really comfy, and the apartment had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. 📍 Great location—easy access to Dundee city centre and perfect for day trips to St Andrews. 🍾 We especially appreciated the thoughtful touch of a bottle of prosecco from the host and enjoyed winding down with the TV in the evenings.

🚫 When we arrived, one of the carpets was wet, and later that night, we noticed a strong smell of urine coming from that spot. We informed the host, who arranged for a professional cleaner, which we appreciated. However, the smell persisted and was still noticeable on our final night. The host insisted it was just a stale odour, but I could clearly tell the difference—it was unmistakably urine, and the rest of the house smelled fine, which made the contrast even more obvious. The host initially promised to follow up regarding compensation but never responded, and I’m now having to resolve this through Booking.com customer service. This was especially distressing as I was travelling with an 8-week-old baby, two elder mums, and a 6-year-old, so a clean and healthy environment was essential.
