Hótel Skálholt

A really cute hotel in the countryside, close to Laugaras lagoon. We had a room with twin beds. It as clean and nice, and a view of the church. The breakfast had all we needed - and the restaurant area is nice with lush indoor plants. The rooms are spacious enough. The cathedral and surrounding archeological site is interesting, and worth a look.

We could hear our neighbours when in the bathroom, but not really a problem.

Hieno paikka maisemaltaan sekä historialtaan. Rauhallinen. Saimme kuulla paikan historiasta tutustuessamme paikalla olevaan kirkkoon. Huone viihtyisä.ja siisti. Ystävällinen henkilökunta. Sopiva etäisyys autoilla nähtävyyksille.

Hotellin kyltissä oli vaellusreittimerkki, mutta niistä ei ollut opastetta

Die Lage war gut um den Golden Circle zu bereisen.

Die Hot tubs hatten Schmutzränder und im Wasser schwammen Hautschuppen. Es war eklig. Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen, ich sehe keine Renovierungsmaßnahmen außer ein paar neue Sitzmöbel. Das Frühstück war sehr einfach. Das Badezimmer ist absolut renovierungsbedürftig. Die Bilder an den Wänden des Zimmers sind von einem isländischen Künstler, aber ein Schimpanse mit einem Totenschädel in der Hand ist in einem Land mit so schönen Bildern der Natur unpassend. Im Vergleich zu anderen Unterkünften war das Preis-Leistungsniveau schwächer.

L’hôtel se trouve dans un petit village, je dirais même un petit lieu dit, en pleine nature. Très sauvage comme environnement. On se demande même comment un tel établissement se trouve ici 😊 Le personnel très sympathique 👍

Alors des petits points mais qui peuvent avoir son importance : - mini mini salle de bain, et peu pratique mais qui vaut le mérite d’être là - la chambre avait une odeur que je ne saurais expliquer mais comme il est impossible d’aérer, on s’y accommode - nous avons eu deux lits séparés alors que j’avais demandé un lit double - le bain à l’extérieur peut être chouette mais par contre la température est trop chaude. On a été cuit comme des écrevisses 🦞 😅 - le petit dej est vraiment celui qu’on a le moins aimé de notre séjour… assez pauvre en choix. Au niveau qualité prix, on sait que l’Islande est plus cher qu’en France mais pour la qualité vu en Islande, je trouve que c’est un peu élevé.

Sehr entgegenkommendes Personal. Wir waren zweimal im Abstand von ein paar Tagen dort. Beim ersten Mal habe ich angerufen, dass wir gerne nach 21:00 Uhr einchecken möchten, da wir den Abend in der Laugaraslagoon mit Nachtessen verbringen wollten. War überhaupt kein Problem. Danke fürs Entgegenkommen! Lage ist sehr ruhig. Interessante Klosterkirche nebenan.

The room was wonderful. Comfortable beds, enough space. Good breakfast. Excellent location not just for the trip around the country but the location of the hotel has historical significance. Don't miss walking the ground and the church near the hotel. The staff is very welcoming and friendly

Not sure if it is an issue for the most of the travelers but the shower/bathroom is tiny. Though it seems normal for most of the places
