Anook Hotel Hongdae

Staff were really friendly, smooth check in. Public transportations, Hongdae street are closeby. We had some bug issues, got bit quite a bit. Not for long stay but a night or two. Younger crowd too maybe. Bug spray are located under the desk back in the corner.

We stayed for 6 nights, when we arrived the staff didn’t check my ID and just gave us the room key. We purchased the deluxe room for more space, when we entered the room there was a thick smell of mold and on further inspection the bed has white stains all over. There are marks and strains all over the walls, including on towels, the room was small with a weird yoga set up on the loft level. There was no chair to sit on in the room, when booking the deluxe room online we got nothing that looks like the photo. When we saw the sheet we went down to the reception to see if we could change rooms, the staff was polite and tried his best to communicate, he said he could change the sheets or down grade our room with no refund. We opted for the sheets to be changed, then our toilet broke which we then had to change rooms. Overall the rooms look nothing like the photos, the rooms are dirty which we thought it wouldn’t be because of the other reviews on this hotel but unfortunately we did not have the same experience. (Also the deluxe rooms are themed, depending on the room you maybe have a dirty yoga mat or a PlayStation? Or the one advertised in the photo)

It was a decent hotel if you are just staying for a couple of nights.

Shower room was incredibly small, water droplets goes to entire toilet.

The hotel is in a great location. Easy walking distance to many restaurants and sights of Hongdae. However check in time is at 6pm. We were only staying for a night so a very expensive stay for 12 hours access to the hotel. As the hotel wasn’t fully booked I asked if we might be able to check in any earlier than 6pm but was told we would need to pay for an additional night stay if we wanted to access the room before 6pm. It’s over priced for what it is as very small rooms so you wouldn’t want to stay for more than one night.

Check in is 6pm which is insane and you have to pay 75,000 WON to check in earlier, it’s insane. Our first room had black mold all behind the bed so we had to request a different room. The room was so tiny and cramped. Would never recommend this place
