The hotel’s amenities and its location were great. Staff were warm and approachable.

Not a dislike but a note for guests - There may be a slight wait for breakfast if it’s crowded and you have a very tight schedule do go earlier. You may not always get let in immediately. It’ll just be a short wait.

This is a large but relaxed hotel very close to the center of Matsumoto. The hotel is a bit off center, about 10 minutes walk to the train station and main street, where you can find many restaurants and shops. Ideal for anyone coming by car because the hotel has its own (automatic) parking. This is a no-shoes hotel, so each guest gets a shoes locker in the entrance to the hotel. The rooms themselves have relaxed bright wooden furniture, and offer some view of the mountains. There is a nice onsen at the top floor, washing machines and other services. There is also a 24/7 coffee machine at the lobby. The staff was very attentive and helpful. All and all, a great place to stay and a great basis to visit Matsumoto (which happened to be more interesting that initially thought) and the mountain attractions of Kamikochi and the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route.
