Fantastic 2BD Victorian Apt - 4 adults & 1 child

It’s a terrific location, right in the centre of Lewes with easy access to the town, as well as the Downs. Except for the fridge and freezer, it was very clean.

The lockbox is in an awkward location at ankle level. The fridge had a container of left over butter in it. The freezer was full with tubs of food so there was no room for me to use it. This isn’t a B&B, it’s a B. Hospitality is not their strong suit. Many places will provide a little welcome basket, some samples of local goods, a first day’s coffee, etc. Not here. This was a Mother’s Day excursion for us, but there was no recognition of that. It the prerogative of the host, but they didn’t seem interested in providing anything more than the minimum. We lost an hour with time time change on the Sunday, so I had hoped we could delay our departure, but the host refused—again, their prerogative, but not what I would call 5-star service.

Claims to have 2 bathrooms but the one in the upstairs bedroom has no toilet so you have to share and go downstairs. It is also incredibly tiny and you can’t move in the shower - it is so small. You have to pay a £300 security deposit which is taken from your account. No communication about it’s return and had to fight to get it back. Not ideal.

This is a beautiful flat, really comfortable, with a neat kitchen and bathroom and good sized bedrooms. I loved the views from the kitchen and living room. It was very quiet, but central enough location that all the amenities of Lewes are easily walkable. Lewes itself is lovely - I wished I'd had a few more days there to explore it and the the surrounding countryside.

There is no parking at the property, but there is a car park down the road that only costs a few pounds for the day.

The bench at the dining table was not comfortable to sit on.

It was clean comfortable and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend. Location was great, walking distance to all amenities 👍🏼
