As others have mentioned, this is on top of the owners garage, who come and go. This isn’t the most relaxing in terms of noise and safety, but the doors do have locks. Also no blind on the skylight! This paired with noise from garage use below means you might be waking up earlier than you’d like!

The location of accommodation was very good, only a few minutes walk from Worcester College, and less than 10 minutes' walk from Broad Street and the main city centre. There was a Co-op convenience store close by, as well as a small number of cafes/pubs and a great little ice-cream parlour. Within the accommodation itself, the bed was comfortable, the electric shower was good, and all items were in working order.

Unfortunately, the accommodation consisted essentially of a room above a private garage (presumably the owner's), which I felt a bit uncomfortable about. (I did however, have the option to look the living/bedroom, which I did when I went out for the day). Other negative factors: (1) There was a skylight that had no darkening facility at night and added extra heat during the day (see point 2) (2) My stay coincided with a heatwave and there was no means of cooling the room through either a draft or a fan of sorts, so the heat was quite suffocating, even at night. (3) There was no separate sink for the tiny kitchen area at the top of the stairs, and the bathroom sink was quite shallow.

I think it’s very, very expensive for what it is. It’s missing curtains on the sky light - I was woken up at dawn with light glaring in, and being right under the roof it was incredibly hot with no block from the sun. The bathroom also needs a mirror. I also felt uncomfortable that the host could have access from the garage to the property upstairs - there is not much privacy. It’s not really up to the standards I would expect for a £220 a night room.
