Overall a very nice and private stay! The only slight issue we had was with the shower head. While trying to change the water function on the shower head, the whole thing came off but luckily it was easy to put back on!

We stayed for a long weekend and found the property beautiful, quiet and clean. There wasn’t really staff around but that was okay because everything seemed to be taken care of behind the scenes. The location was conveniently close to canal park and was simply beautiful. Definitely be staying there again.

The Superior Suite was beautiful! Some reviews mentioned breakfast but that is incorrect, The website was correct in that it served pastries and those cannot be considered breakfast. This was my only complaint but overall the mansion was very well maintained and very tastefully decorated. Would recommend this place.

Well, first my phone failed to charge overnight so my phone died when I called the agent. I did not have access to the email for verification codes. Ramone remembered me and was able to tell me how to get in. The room he gave us was in use. So I called Ramone again and he gave us a different room. However, the lights for the Jay Cooke Suite are not next to the door! They are across the room, high on the wall. I had to find the employee, Alexis?, to turn on the lights for us. The lights on the bed tables did not work because they were not plugged in. I had to do that with a flashlight to see the extension cord. The clock, on a plate rail on the wall, had no battery so it was useless. I tried to turn on the TV and the remote was attached to a device on top of the refrigerator, far from the sofa or bed, so, we had little control or flexibility. There were no directions on how to use the system, nor a list of available channels. I guessed and found a movie. The window blinds were a challenge. They are a simple pull down or push up type. Not easy when they were opened up to the top - 8 feet! I had to climb on the radiator and chair to reach the bottom of each one so I could pull them down and block out the window. The front steps may be original and authentic, but they are not guest friendly. Carrying luggage and trying to hold it while opening the door lock was difficult. It would be nice to have a landing in front of the door. They are steep and the steps shallow

It was a very nice room. We liked the old charm of an older home. The bed was fine for us but it could be a potential hazzard for some people. The bed was extremely high. My husband is tall and he even had to hop on it.We wanted to watch something on pbs but could not get that channel only netflix or hulu. Overall we enjoyed the mansion. Thank you

Very quiet and very comfortable.

I will stay here again and again! It was peaceful, comfortable, and incredibly clean! I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a cleaner accommodation. Also, we left a week ago, and I’ve thought about the comfortable bed every day since. I have already recommended the GG Barnum mansion to family and friends.
