Mahala - 21 and Over - A Town & Desert Boutique Hotel

Stayed here one night. Room and grounds are cute and stylish, but HVAC in the room was mandated to stay on "heat," and the air just got hotter and hotter... Impossible to open a window to the outside for airflow. Tried to switch HVAC to "fan only," but heat inexplicably stayed on. Bed was hard, and yet also bouncy, so every time one of us got sore and changed position, the other woke up. Hot water took whole minutes to achieve in both sink and shower, which feels really criminal in the desert. Lastly, the small plastic bottles of soap/shampoo feel out of date in a wasteful way; can you switch to refillable mounted bottles in the shower?

The facade is easy to miss, as it is somewhat minimalist in design. The inside, and courtyard and rooms are well designed and modern, and like a small oasis. Some good diners and restaurants across the street, and the location is a short drive to the center of town. The hosts are very nice and accommodating. Beds are super comfortable and the shower was new and large.

Super clean, very friendly staff, rooms came with a welcome back of snacks and beverages, free parking. Pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained.

The carpeting in the rooms was hard on the feet to walk on, had to wear sandals.

Scott was very personable and responsive. He gave great recommendations and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. The property is also very quiet and peaceful.

Wonderful staff and great Mountain View from the pool and hot tub area. Would highly recommend!
