Hotel Vera

Das Zimmer war riesig, sauber und die Lage war nicht zu überbieten. Der Kontakt mit dem Hotel verlief super und die erbetenen Kissen wurden direkt vorbeigebracht.

Die Fenster sind nicht schallisoliert, so dass man alles hört, was auf der Straße passiert.

Keine Rezeption. Es ist eigentlich eher ein Apartment ohne Service und Restaurant

Great location for sightseeing and restaurants. And it was nice having a little kitchen and table for eating, especially breakfast — the Nespresso coffee maker and coffee pods was a nice surprise!

The keyless entry system was a bit of a challenge at first, but got easier. The staff was responsive when help was needed.

Horrible. We were given room in basement with walking through kitchen and nasty smell everywhere. They said free parking but no free parking. Ready to pay about $40 per day for parking. Bugs in the room. And when you open sofa bed, there is no room to move even a foot

The rooms were big, and looked ok on the photos but the "wooden" floor was actually plastic. Not as good as it pretends to be.

I didn't realise this hotel has no reception! As I didn't have data on my phone (travelling from overseas - not unusual for a tourist in Iceland!) I couldn't open the entry instructions for the rooms. The cafe downstairs were clearly frustrated with guests turning up with no info. We had no access to the WIFI so it was a frustrating paradox to be in. After a few interactions buzzing on the intercom to some disconnected voice and a subsequent problem with codes we managed to get in, although the door buttons were problematic every time we went into our room. A very upsetting start to our trip. Will not stay there again. Also hilariously they sent info on how to switch on the electric kettle but no tea bags, and no info on how to control the (oppressive!) heating and no suggestions on where to go to buy food or get breakfast. It felt like a set of ghost apartments designed by AI and run by robots.
