Basic cabin motel arrangement comfortable not fancy room but very convenient to Avenue of the Giants, which was the purpose of our stay. Well worth a little roughness around the edges.

"Cute country cottages with unique decor"

8.0

The cottages are really cute; they are quite old with old-fashioned appliances but well kept up and really nicely decorated with actual antiques! I felt like I was staying in my grandmother’s cottage from the 1930’s, and that’s a compliment to the ambience of the place. The location is great, right at the south end of the Avenue of the Giants. Our cottage, #10, had a nice private sitting area behind the cottage. There are a couple of restaurants and a nice coffee shop right across the street. We didn’t cook in the kitchen but the cookware looked fine and usable. I recommend staying here if you are looking for a unique lodging experience with an old-fashioned peaceful country feel and not your normal, bland and sterile hotel room. We will stay here again if we come back to this area.

Quaint cottage. No A/C, just fans, so a little hot when we arrived. Nice porch. Beautiful setting. Ice machine was broken.

We were on a road trip and spent one night at this property, and it had all of the needed amenities, such as a microwave and refrigerator. It was extremely clean, the parking was easy and close to the cottage, and the staff was very nice and responsive. There is only one thing that I would suggest, and that is for management to put a caution sign on the rear gate, near the play structure, that leads to the forest. The sign should clearly state, “Enter at your own risk.” The gate, gives the impression that it is safe to enter, and that a defined trail awaits. Several guests, including myself, accessed the gate thinking that there would be a marked trail, but then we learned that there was not a defined trail and the area was filled with fallen trees and poison oak. This is a major safety issue because children can easily access this trail, especially with it being adjacent to a play area. Other than that, I would gladly stay here again and I highly recommend it to other travelers.

The property is eclectic, a bit run down but ok overall for a short stay. However, the water stopped working sometime overnight so no shower, toilet, tooth brushing…
