Niwa Tulum Luxury Suites

Our room was very nice and spacious. The staff was nice. But this is not a hotel. There is no bar or restaurant (we saw some reviews saying there was), and it's not close to many food options. It definitely has more of a short term rental vibe. Again, we liked it well enough, but it wasn't quite what we expected.

I'd like to preface this with it is a great condo with a large patio area that was fun for a family of five. Nice kitchen right off the patio to cook meals. We enjoyed having a larger place to come back to after staying at Hotel Xcaret for a week. On our second night I walked into the kitchen and encountered three roaches, one big enough to have a conversation with. I tried not to freak out since I didnt want to ruin our vacation. I opened the utensil drawer and oh god there was one in there too! I quickly contacted the management for Roach traps. They replied "they were sorry for our unfortunate situation" and that they had spray. They sprayed when we were gone and we only saw two more after that for the rest of the 4 days we were there. We told the woman at the front desk we were checking out early and leaving the next day after staying 8 nights but booking 11 nights. We for a refund obviously since it was previously booked. And we were ready to see more Mexico. The next day as we were leaving the woman at the front desk came up to the condo, asked me to stay and started inspecting everything?! Counting in front of me every towel and sheet then furiously texting on her phone, it was bizarre. You would think after leaving three nights early and they can obviously book the place again to double their money worrying about some shabby towels seems not thought out well and surprizingly petty. You would think they would be abit more apologetic and not outwar
