Sonder Ovation

Check-in was at 4, but shortly before I received a message that they needed 45 more minutes to get the room ready. This was disappointing and required us to wait in the lobby until 4:30. The place was clean and easy to access, however the walls were thin and you can hear everything - in the halls, the water pipes, outside, etc. The location was decent for walking to different parts of the city. Overall, I’d say you get what you pay for.

I really enjoyed staying at the Sonder Ovation. We got a really nice suite — with a kitchen — for a very reasonable price. And it was in a great location, right in center city. We only stayed one night, but it would have been perfect if we were staying over a longer period and didn’t want to eat out for every meal.

Amazing

Do not stay if you are sensitive to noise. Overall the property was nice but the road is so noisy, you are right on the subway which runs late and the fan (even though I turned it off) was running all night and incredibly loud. They provide ear plugs for a reason. The sofa bed was horrendously uncomfortable. The main bed was ok. The property itself is nicely put together but feel it is quite surface level considering there are no extras such as housekeeping. There is no safe in the property. Cooking facilities were great. Bathroom fine but shower pressure wasn’t great (took twice as long as normal to wash my hair). I would not return to this property because of the noise meant I didn’t sleep through the night once out of four nights.

Everything was great, but one of the bathroom showers were not working. So baths had to be taken. Other than that it was in a great location , close to restaurants and grocery stores. The other challenge is street parking, it’s limited but I was lucky enough to find a spot . I would definitely consider staying in another Sonder facility in the future!

Enjoyed our stay

Highly recommend! I had never stayed in a Sonder before, so was a little nervous about how they would be. We really loved this place. My son and I were there for a Penn admitted student event, and it was perfect for us. We had a 2-bedroom. It was extremely clean and the beds were soooo comfortable. In a great spot to reach anything on Broad street. It's about a 12 minute drive from Penn. We had a rental car, but seems like public transportation would have been quite easy. And cheaper than any hotel in the area! We are from a small, rural town so we are used to quiet but the street noise really wasn't bothersome. Parking can be a challenge. The first night, there were plenty of spots on the street, and parking is free from 8 pm to 8 am so it was fine. The second night we drove around for a long time looking for a spot before parking in a nearby garage overnight, which was like $30 for the night and pretty easy.

It’s like staying in a friend’s apartment. The only negative is that the sheets are very scratchy. Other than that we had nothing to complain about. All of the basics are there for an easy no frills stay. It’s conveniently located directly on Broad street so walking around the entire city is easy but there’s a train stop right by the hotel if needed.
