Derby Digs Cabin

Well laid out cabin. Bike wash bay and workshop/storage.

Bathroom just a fraction small - not bad though. It was well laid out. There was also a second toilet which was a plus, if someone is in the shower.

The property was difficult to find - it is down the back of another house and can’t be seen from the road of its street address. Entry is actually from another street, but we weren’t given directions to that. In fact we were given directions ( and key code) for a different property. When we rang to find out where it was having spent an hour driving and walking around, the ? Owner was quite rude. Plus - entry involved walking up a steep incline with loose gravel covering it. You couldn’t wheel a bag, and having had two hip replacements I was terrified of falling. It may be fine for young bike riders but not for two older women

At the trail head - about 50m away to shuttle bus pick up and end of all trails. Comfortable, super clean, and a great elevated position. 2 minutes walk to town. I will definitely stay again.

Not being able to park at door as there is a closed gate. Makes unpacking more challenging

Access to the property is awkward. Car park is external to property, and on a slope.

Location of the cabin was suitable for our trip

Originally locating the cabin was difficult . We found the address from the top road where there as no access. We had to phone and were directed to the bottom entrance. Access from the gate, on foot,, the only way, was difficult and precarious, We are seniors with slight mobility problems and the steep incline on loose gravel we had to take with extreme care. Customers should be warned before booking.
