Mixed experience overall, but the checkout situation was completely unacceptable and ruined what could have been a forgivable stay. The room had a persistent bad smell throughout — likely from drainage — which affected both the room and the hallway. The TV wasn't working on arrival, though it was eventually fixed. The night before checkout, a large insect (around 10cm) came under the door and went under the bed. We couldn't sleep knowing it was there. On the positive side, the girl at check-in was efficient, friendly and answered all our questions well. Another female staff member helped us with the TV issue and was also very helpful — she specifically told us we could leave our bags on checkout day since our flight was later. When we checked out, a male big tall staff member flatly refused to hold our bags, told us to go find paid lockers elsewhere, and made comments in Spanish while we were speaking to him in English. When we explained that a colleague had already confirmed we could leave the bags, he dismissed it entirely. Our bags were small — under 10kg — and we only needed 3 hours. His attitude was rude, unhelpful and unprofessional. This kind of inconsistency between staff is not acceptable, especially when guests have already made plans based on what they were told. The female staff were genuinely good. Management needs to address the male big tall staff member's attitude and the communication gap between team members urgently.
