Santoro Country House

This place is truly amazing. It is well kept, the staff couldn’t be nicer especially Annalisa who was willing to go the extra mile for us. The food was very nice both at breakfast and dinner. The pool is spectacular with views over the mountains in a quiet setting.

The Country House is an excellent accommodation when visiting the Etna region. The rooms are very comfortable, new and attractive. The grounds, including a stunning pool, are very attractive with views of neighbouring vineyards and mountains and the landscaping and buildings are very well kept up. Dinner was exceptional — we tried multiple dishes and all were cooked to perfection. Annelise greeted us when we arrived and made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. Altogether, the stay has been exceptional. We will return in the future.

Lovely grounds, staff was amazing!

This hotel offers all the benefits of a private villa yet the perks of a five-star hotel. It will soon have a Relais et Chateau boutique rating we are sure! Its location near Taormina yet higher up in the mountains means that you are very near many of the must sees of Sicily and learn a lot about the unique geology and history of the area. We enjoyed tours of Mount Etna, and the Etna Donatella winery, hiked down to the Alcantara Gorge & enjoyed dining in many of the nearby towns. We stayed for a week at the hotel with our extended family & didn't know what to expect. Everything surpassed our expectations. We enjoyed relaxing by the private pool, walking through its immaculate gardens, dining in the restaurant, andsitting on its many terraces with its mountain top vistas. Each day we hiked behind the hotel on a volcanic rock trail that is fragrant with emerging Etna brooms (small shrubs & trees) that smell like jasmine. The hotel food is outstanding & their cooking class - where we learned to make pasta, Sicilian arancini balls & ricotta fruit tarts was truly fantastic & unforgettable. The hotel is a special place with its wonderful food, some of which they even bottle & sell. We brought home Santoro pistachio pesto and crema, made at a nearby factory on the property & were sad to leave behind their chocolate hazelnut cream & many olive & tomato sauces only because we couldn't lift our suitcases! We would like to go back! The hotel has a personal touch that cannot be matched.

We spent 4 nights at this beautiful relaxing hotel with very well kept grounds, fabulous pool (which unfortunately we couldn't enjoy because it rained!) The best part about this place is the staff, particularly Annalisa who is just the most amazing person - professional, organized, efficient, knowledgeable, friendly! She was incredibly patient, booked restaurants and wine tasting for us, sent directions on google maps for all locations. We can't praise the customer care we received, enough Breakfast is served in the hotel's restaurant. It is not buffet style, rather food is brought to the table. A selection of sweet items including croissants, cakes, mini doughnuts, as well as cold cuts, cheeses, scrambled eggs or omelets, bread, yogurt and cereals! Excellent coffee. Fresh veggies don't seem to be served in Sicily, at least that was our experience Dinner in the restaurant is excellent! The waiters are extremely knowledgeable particularly about the Etna wines of the area. Service is excellent, I wish I could remember the name of the young waiter who was just so polite and professional. Prices are not cheap but reasonable for the area. The place is very quiet, no bar or restaurant open during the day, although they are planning to open the kitchen located by the pool for light lunches once the weather improves.

Thé Santoro Country House Is a venue for events such as weddings. We happened to have stayed during what was called a small event, but still, the restaurant was off-limits and our rooms were right over the party.

It looks amazing , bedroom it top and also the swimming pool is great. We did a cooking course and had a great evening. This man is a entertainer and good cooker. One less positive note is the breakfast and the lunch. They want to be luxury but on this point there is space to improve. The office lady was great.

This is such a lovely place! Opened recently and has all comforts one can wish for and more. Very comfortable rooms, modern and clean. Very friendly staff that makes you feel very welcome. They will go the extra mile for their guests. The restaurant connected is high level and bases on local produce. There is also a shop with local products for sale. The swimming pool is big enough for either just poodling or a serous swim. Strongly recommended!

We spent a happy week half board at Santoro. It is a small hotel with a high quality restaurant. Our ensuite room was spotless with a private terrace. There is a beautiful pool and garden. we got to know the staff who were very welcoming and knowledgeable, particularly Annalisa who helped us plan our days out and recommended nearby local places to eat. You do need a car - there’s plenty of parking. The hotel is about 30 minutes from Taormina, Etna North, 1 hour to Etna South. Its a good base to see the North East of Sicily and Etna. The only downside for some may be that the SS120 runs outside- its not very busy but a road none the less. We were out all day so weren’t bothered by it at all and it was quiet at night.
