"HIGHLY RECOMMEND"

10.0

Lakeshore Resort is the only place near Huntington Lake that offers campsites with full hook ups. This place has never let us down, hosts are super friendly, camp sites are well taken care of, and the bath rooms are always kept super clean .

Very cozy and cute. Nice features and amenities. Resort fee is a little ridiculous. Everyone is very nice and helpful. Close to all the campgrounds and the beach.

"Good"

2.0

This property is a disaster. Only 3 cabins have been renovated. Even those had no (zero) tables and chairs inside. Nothing to sit on or eat at inside at all. There were 2 tiny chairs and a tiny table that the manager said she bought from her garage. The driveway was dirt/mud. The drive up the hill was rough. No view of the lake. The surrounding cabins not yet renovated were rotted and decayed. The main restaurant and store and connected lodge were closed. The bar was open but was small and smelly and didn’t open until 1100 on Monday. There was no free continental breakfast as the website indicated. As they say, they don’t interface well with Expedia. Check in was bizarre

"Creek Fire"

2.0

I paid in advance for a labor day weekend stay, the fire creek happened and we never used our reservation. I have not been able to reschedule or get my money back. They do not answer their phone or respond to their emails. Has this happened to anyone??

"NO POWER!"

2.0

It is expected when renting a cabin in the wilderness that you won't have all the luxuries of home. That wasn't the case here at all. When my friend and I arrived, there were signs on the windows of the store, restaurant, and office stating there would be a power outage that same day by order of the USFS due to a safety hazard. The management could and should have called me so that I could have made other arrangements for accomodations. No one there could tell us when the power outage would be finished. So, we roughed it the first night with flashlights, cold water (that I had brought). Without heat, it was very cold in the cabin. The water from the faucet smelled and tasted like iron when brushing your teeth or washing your hands. No power means no hot water, heat nor lights. They should have at least had a propane powered generator for the amenities to ensure the comfort and safety of the guest. Since we were booked to stay for two nights, we decided to tough it out for the final night because there were no other locations available and driving back to King City/Paso Robles was not an option. Another couple that was in the shack next to ours left the next morning, they weren't going to endure the hardship. The pictures on their webpage of the cabins are not accurate at all thus false advertising. My recommendation is that you find another location to book for a weekend in the area. I will inform all my associates and friends to never stay there.

"Neglected, gross, unsanitary"

2.0

Any place that has a NO REFUND policy should throw up a RED FLAG, and after staying at Lakeshore Resort I can see why they have that in place. The refurbished cabins are not a thing, my mom got upgraded to a newly refurbished room and it looked like someone had gotten shanked on her carpet, same with my cabin with a kitchen the carpet was dirty and stained with dark spots of who knows what, the furnace was disgusting and had not been cleaned in decades, massive cobwebs on every door frame, fanning the length of the ceilings, large gaps/holes in the corners between floor and walls, kitchen appliances old, dirty, mostly inoperative, broken handles and gas burners, kitchen supplies rusted, cracked. Don’t expect this cabin to be stocked with necessary resort amenities like soap, shower towels, hand towels, working electricity 1 day a week. Windows were heavily coated with cobwebs, dirt, cardboard tapped the part of a window. Bring your own camping gear, blankets for the bed, food to camp out when they turn the electricity off for 9 hours and the restaurants for 20 miles are closed for the entire day without notice. They won’t answer the phones or email you back until maybe 1 day before your visit. The office staff is so unprofessional and not helpful, the housekeeping is worse than a motel 6 or a European hostile. Would NOT recommend

"Shut it down!"

2.0

This place is a health hazard and needs to be shut down immediately. They advertise as “rustic” but really they mean “filthy and in disrepair.” The cabin floor has stains, mold, and holes throughout and walking across it barefoot made our feet dark with dirt. A mouse ran across our floor twice. There was a random extension cord going out the ripped screen of the window. Spiderwebs, rust, dirt, and mold is everywhere. The oven doesn’t vent out so when you cook, the entire cabin smells of gas. Even the front steps are a tripping hazard. We mentioned the mouse to the staff and they had no reaction. They also don’t believe in Covid-19 so not a single employee wore a mask - indoors or out in the middle of a pandemic. The staff match the state of the cabins - visibly dirty and definitely sketchy. They could give the Tiger King cast a run for their money. They do not offer refunds so once you book, you are stuck in this hell hole. No staff who could actually help you was ever available in person, by phone, or email. The staff who is their just sit around drinking and smoking all day and night and seem very confused. We also rented kayaks and they were dirty and broken but we made it work but afterwards we had to actively seek our rental deposit back - which took talking to no less than four separate people. Way too many health and safety hazards to name here but I’m attaching photos. Lake Huntington itself is beautiful but do NOT stay here. It’s beyond awful.

"Just the basics"

6.0

My husband and I just came back from 3 nights at lakeshore resort. We stayed in cabin D8. We stayed at the "resort" once before so we knew what to expect. Just understand it is just the basics, VERY rustic and nothing fancy whatsoever. The biggest piece of advice I can give is to bring your own pillows and blankets. There was only one very thin old comforter and one very thin quilt. There were two very small pillows per bed. There was carpet in the main living area as you walk in the door that needed to be replaced BADLY and was extremely stained. I don't know why anyone would put carpet in a cabin anyway. It could definitely use a little TLC. All that being said, the scenery is beautiful, the cabin was fairly clean and it was very quiet and serene. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with our coffee in the mornings and there was no partying. There is also a little store right there in case you forget things. Just understand it is not fancy in any way. If you're just looking for a place to sleep and relax a little I'd recommend it.
