"Used to work for Common Man and greatly appreciate and care about the company. Was really excited for our stay, but was"

5.0

The aesthetic of the hotel is nice, comforting, and fitting for the area. Decor is great, lots of options in the store from souvenirs to snacks. Cozy fireplace in the lobby and games to choose from, the aesthetic of the room we stayed in and hotel overall is great. Antique decor was cool to see, old cash register and pictures to interact with and look at were a great touch! Boiler room is a must see.

We got the king lodge suite, which was a higher price than expected for amenities provided. King bed was hard as a rock and not comfortable to sleep on, and the fireplace didn’t work in the room. We mainly stayed because of the spa amenities it had to offer. The hot tub had clumps of sand or foundation settled at the bottom that we could feel when we got in, and there was a clump of hair next to a dead bug on the ground next to the pool itself. It looked like it hadn’t been aired out/ thoroughly cleaned or swept in a long time. Food was hit or miss at fosters, but atmosphere was neat.

"Disappointed, deceptive business practices."

2.0

We booked this place for a birthday getaway. There was deception in what we looked at and booked online at the spa was not what we received. The front desk at the spa was dismissive and told us to go down the road to the lodge. The lodge was honestly, awful. The room was not what we booked and our view was of the street.. if we actually wanted go to the spa area or get dinner at the common man we would have to travel back down the street to the main lodge..honestly very very disappointed and wont be going back.

"The staff was very helpful. The location was perfect for our stay. The prices seem to be raised due to some type of even"

It was absolutely beautiful!

We didn’t realize we were staying off of the main resort area.

"Nice, standard hotel with rustic decor"

6.0

People there were nice. The main building is much nicer while the off site location is your standard hotel room with a touch of rustic decor. The main building contains the spa, pool, hot tub, gift shop, nicely decorated rustic living room with fireplace/ games, restaurant and breakfast eating areas. We stayed at the off site lodge as the main building was full. The check-in area at the off site lodge has tea, mild coffee, and watered down hot chocolate and open 24/7. They do have the included free breakfast but it's cold (cereal, pop tarts, yogurt, danish, waffle, and a Jimmy Dean sandwich in fridge). You can have the included warm breakfast in the main building (potatoes, scrambled eggs, ham, fruit and half a muffin) open till 10 am. Across from the warm breakfast is another cafe area with the cold food and bread. The time we went, they had been having problems with the TV, so no TV for us at the off site lodge. The room has the standard amenities, TV, free wifi, pad/pen in drawer, coffee, fridge, a sliver of goat soap, sm. container of the spa moisturizer, q-tips, bag for dirty clothes, blow dryer, towels, hair and body soap attached to wall. Can't remember if they had an iron. The walls are think so keep that in mind. The bathroom vent did not work and neither did the fridge (it's just not cold). I would bring a cooler and add their ice if you want to keep things cool. Btw, the sink is located outside the toilet/shower. The off site lodge also has a little living room area at check in with a fireplace that is cozy enough, games, and even a few gifts to buy. Also, currently the gift shop in the main building did not have various sizes in sweatshirts, mostly small and medium for 50-60 dollars. However, they did have a lovely in house cat that you can pet. Overall, a nice, clean, decent place to stay especially when your in a pickle to find a room. Hard to tell what the grounds had when covered with snow but I did see fire pits scattered around at both locations. The area itself seemed quiet with attractions within 30 min. Photos are from main building except for the beds. Gratuity for maids is included in your bill but not enough. One night, they only charged 3 dollars. Hope this is of help. Enjoy!
