Hoi An Merrily De Art Hotel

The family room was great because you go through one door and then that leads you to 2 more doors with two separate rooms so the kids had one room and I had the other so I felt that they were safe. The air cons were good, as was the shower. And they didn't scalp you with the mini bar prices.! The location was quite close to the old town however not a lot of restaurants/massage places within close walking distance, that is if you didn't want to sweat a lot because it was 77% humidity when we were there, so it was a case of taking taxis everywhere which isn't really a problem because they're so cheap but just be aware. The staff on the whole were very helpful, even though there were a few problems with the room which they went out of their way to fix so I can't fault them for that. They will also organise excursions or taxis for anything you need.

Breakfast was average but acceptable, the pool only had three chairs so you couldn't get a lot of people there and it was quite cold which is nice when it's really hot but it's not the sort of pool you want to sit around and enjoy for hours - it's under the hotel so there's no direct sunlight in there. The rooms at the front of the hotel were a little bit noisy -we were on the first floor, so I'm not sure what it was like on the other floors. We were moved to the back of the hotel because a drain smell problem which they did immediately when they discovered the problem and were very apologetic about it. However, when we moved to the back of the hotel we had to put up with what sounded like a herd of ponies walking backwards & forward on the tiled floor upstairs for hours. I don't know what they were doing but we didn't have that problem in the other room, probably just because of the person staying there - not the Hotel's fault and not much they could do about it. The tiles throughout the Hotel were quite stained and I brought this up with the owner and he was extremely apologetic and sad because he had bought the wrong tiles and they got stained very quickly and very easily and the stains just won't come out. He's tried numerous things to try and get them out. It's a shame because it's a nice hotel especially for the price, and I feel sad for him because I'm sure that some people would be really concerned that it's dirty when it's not.

We had a lovely stay at the Merrily De Art Hotel in HoiAn. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were very kind and attentive, the breakfast was generous and varied, and the pool was so refreshing! There were bicycles available to ride through the nearby rice fields to the beach, and the market in old town was only a twenty minute walk. The owner was very kind and helpful and, together with his wonderful staff, made our stay really pleasant! We recommend this hotel.

Some may not like the location, though it worked for us.

Everything was perfect. The stuff was awesome!

This is the perfect place to stay in Hoi An, just a short walk from the old town with plenty around! Free cycle hire is great along with a good breakfast!

Everything amazing, we visit with my friend and love it!

The only thing we will improve is the coffee, otherwise breakfast was great.
