Was a neat old building with lots of character including a combined living room/kitchen on each of the two floors

I did not mind them but getting upstairs to the rooms included climbing one or two sets of stairs from street level

It an old building, everything is clean and working fine, but the building shows its age. I liked have a “lobby” for my use right outside my room on the second floor. Nice couch with TV and big kitchen table. All the were available inside my room, but the lobby was nicer.

Beautiful old hotel very nicely renovated

The location of the Bay Historic Bayview Hotel was perfect. It is located in the heart of downtown Stewart. The age of the hotel lended to its charm.

I was surprised the hotel had no one at the front desk or any manager on sight. There was a code to get into the hotel, but the front door was usually found unlocked. I felt unsafe when a large group of people entered the hotel and ran up stairs and had a very loud party in the common area. It was not clean and under need of repair, such as the electrical socket in the bathroom was damaged. The mattress was so hard it would have been better to sleep on the floor.
