Smiling Places - Guest House in Labruge

The home at Smiling Places is bright and welcoming.

Owners/host were friendly and helpful. Small guest house with three rooms so everything is personal. Room was good. Breakfast was great with a set serving of food at your table and an admonition to take anything you wanted from the table for later was thoughtful and smart. Our bike arrived a week early and they happily stored it without question or comment. The available washer and dryer for a fair price was great - just wish it was halfway to Santiago, not at the start of our trip.

Limited food for dinner in the area in walking distance. Hotel signage could have been better to help Uber driver find it.

It’s a lovely guesthouse and Fernando took amazing care of me and made my stay and my first night at the Camino very special.

Such a lovely welcome to come here after a long day walking the Camino. It is just up the road from the camino path so very convenient to get to. The owners are so kind and go out of their way to make us feel welcome when we are there.

These are the kindest people I’ve ever met on the Camino. And this was our first stop after the first day on the Camino Portuguese. The energy in this house is incredible. Everything is thoughtful and truly welcoming. The owners are a pleasure to talk to and great listeners to your stories. Amazing Elisabete told us about the route we should take and recommended several places to visit. And honestly — this place isn’t about money, but it’s objectively worth much more.

Ein wunderschöner Aufenthalt mit sehr warmherzigen Gastgeber, einfach fantastisch. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, konnten die Wäsche waschen und trocknen was für den Camino sehr praktisch ist.
