Apartment totally isolated 40 minute walk from Varenna No food facilties available except one expensive restaurant Totally unsuitable unless you have a car Arrival by train is a long walk with luggage to collect key then a taxi needed Not wise choice for older guests On busy road very noisy especially motorbikes Power failed and agent instructions very unclear where outside power box located in the darkness Very stressful experience

The property was very nice and clean.

The property was very nice and clean but had no AC. I know this is very common in Europe and was not expecting anything different but the staff were kind of snotty when we asked about cooling the property. They basically told us “open the windows and hopefully it rains.” That is totally fine, EXCEPT the traffic and noise from outside was RIDICULOUS. Even with the windows closed it was louder than the sirens living by the largest hospital in DC. I can sleep through just about everything and would frequently wake up from the noise. My sister was basically a zombie by the time we left from sleep deprivation. Do NOT stay here if you’re a light sleeper—beware!
