Blackhaus Suites by AvantStay – Modern Comfort in Downtown Palm Springs

Hotel was very although it’s still quite a walk to downtown. Pool was too small.

I would recommend anyone to stay here it's so close to everything but there is peace and quiet.

I will start with the good, as I truly did like this property. The location was perfect - near downtown and the bars—ample parking, quiet, and big rooms. Service was quick and responsive, and overall a cute stay. Where the property falls short is the upkeep & maintenance. Several items/chairs in the house were worn down, wobbly, and needed replacing. (I called for maintenance right when I got there.) There were also remnants of tape from party decorations on the wall that nobody took down. The dishwasher leaked when it was run, and there was no microwave, which I thought was odd. One note was also that they built the "common areas" around the back of the rooms, so anyone leaving through the patio can walk by your room or living room. I wish it were all separated or enclosed. I could potentially be ok with this, but there are no curtains on our living room windows, so anyone walking by can see you. Which happened. With some minor tweaks, this could be a gem of a stay and destination repeat for me, but it's not worth the money if they don't fix things up. If the owners read this, please walk through this room and see exactly what I am saying. Investing just a little money will go along way.

was completely disappointed in my choice of booking here. They list all their rooms as Suites. Which is not true. A 1 Bedroom suite (my booking) turned out to be a basic King room. There was no desk to work at. No side table and chairs to eat or drink at. Only the bed and an armchair. I had to pull the chair to the edge of the bed in order to type on the laptop. There was zero privacy as the "patios" are all one big open back yard. no screens, no partitions. the guests next door have direct line of sight into my room from their outdoor furniture. The room also has a problem with those big red ants coming thru. I had a miserable time and it ruined my bday getaway.

Our experience at Avant Hotel was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The electronic key code malfunctioned, leaving us stranded outside. Customer service’s suggestion to manipulate the door only worsened the situation, revealing a low battery in the device—a concerning oversight for a keyless entry system. Once we finally gained access to our room, more issues emerged. The bathroom door handle fell off, locking my husband inside until I could open it from the outside. We also found tiny red ants on the bathroom counter, likely due to the rain. A sliding door behind the sink revealed what looked like mold, which the hotel staff dismissed as "water damage." Despite notifying the hotel within 30 minutes, their response was disheartening. A technician confirmed the "water damage" but no alternative accommodation or goodwill gesture was offered. Our refund request was denied, adding insult to injury. Customer service was equally poor, with sporadic text messages and a dismissive attitude towards our grievances. We checked out 40 minutes after arrival, documenting our experience with photographs. In conclusion, our stay at Avant Hotel was marked by numerous issues and a lack of customer care. We strongly advise potential guests to consider alternatives where their comfort and concerns are valued.
