East Star Hotel

Breakfast was very good. And the location was also close to a few well known restaurants.

1. This is a hotel cum music venue. Our rooms were on the 2nd floor; right above it was the hotel's restaurant. Loud music (with strobe lights) started in the evening/night and went on till 11 pm!!! After a day of sightseeing, guests want to return to their hotel rooms to rest but that was not possible in this hotel because the loud music and related sounds kept thumping on our heads. The rooms have little sound proofing to shield us from the sounds. 2. In all my travels, I have never ever had the misfortune to stay in a room with NO WINDOWS! Yes, there is an opaque glass door leading to a tiny balcony but the door is clunky and not easy to open and in any case, one cannot keep it open because of the loud noises coming through. 3. on our first evening, we decided to go up to the restaurant to get a couple of drinks. My Aperol Spritz was fine but the basic gin and tonic that my husband ordered was pretty awful -- little trace of gin and some extremely sour lemon juice added to it! Most of the staff seemed very young and untrained and despite using Google translator, we had difficulty getting our request across.

the overall ambiance - nice neighbourhood, nice and quiet but close to major sightseeing and restaurants. The hotel also has a restaurant and every night nice music but at the same time respects the guest and one doesn't feel the crowd or noise. Very [pleasant staff

there is a nice balcony, but the windows are darkened. It's a style, one gets use to but basically one doesn't have a view

Restaurant table availability for couples/single client: few/none tables available, hence a service to improve to host single/couples.
