the terrace was amazing, a private and quiet space with a view on a hill of yellow dirt, they served us breakfast on the landing outside our bedroom on most days, the interior of the riad and the alley that led to it were really beautiful and colorful

the shower wasn't great(but the thermoregulation worked well), the lighting and room decor weren't as good as i thought

We loved how quiet this location was, how much space inside there was to spread out (lounge space, plenty of table space) and having an en suite bathroom. The breakfast was really yummy too! Having stayed in a couple of riads, we appreciated how flexible the host Monim was - making us breakfast earlier to accommodate an excursion and allowing us to leave our bags at the riad after we checked out to accommodate an evening flight.

It took us a minute to find the entrance on our first night, but after figuring it out - it was very simple to get to and from!

Omein is the kindest host! He met my taxi and walked me to the riad, walked me through the medina to the restaurant (there are none around the riad), provided me with an extension cord and even made a pizza run for me when the restaurant wouldn’t deliver. When the cleaning lady threw away my leftover pizza, Omein made me a tajine. When I balked at the wicked stairs that lead to the room I booked, he put in the room on the ground floor. The riad is very colorful amazing mosaic and wood carvings in common and private areas. It is located on the edge of the medina so it is easy for taxis to get pretty close to it. The restaurant serves a limited breakfast but it is really delicious– fresh hot bread, butter, olives and 2 kinds of preserves with a glass of orange juice. It is the same every day.

Unfortunately, rooms have no outside windows. The room on the ground floor looks out on the dining area so the drapes have to be drawn if you don’t want to be seen while inside. The rooms are dark; had to turn on the phone flashlight to find light switches which were cleverly hidden within bookshelves or behind the curtains. The beds are within inches of the wall so getting in and out requires circus agility. Not enough electrical outlets so difficult to charge multiple devices. There are no desks in rooms so had to use one of the dining tables to work. The shower has a curtain but it doesn’t reach the floor so the bathroom floods. The restaurant is not open during the day and if you want to eat in the evening, you have to let them know in advance. The temperature in the common area is very low. I am hardly ever cold and I was freezing, even with a couple of layers of shirts and a wool sweater. there are no restaurants nearby. you have to go pretty far into the medina to reach the first one.

The hotel is located inside the pedestrian zone, entrance is located in the small courtyard-tunnel. (Attached are a couple of photos of this small passageway.) But very close there is a large parking lot where you can safely leave your car. So overall the location is convenient. Just, when you're looking for the entrance, look carefully at the little signs above the passageways deep into the courtyards. The sign is there. Inside, the hotel is a colorful traditional riad. The photos here provided by the hotel show its interiors very well. The room was not very big, but okay for 2 people and 2 pieces of luggage. The water supply was okay too. The hosts were very friendly and attentive, traditional breakfast and dinner - very tasty. As for dinner, I would say that it is still prepared more on the principle of home cooking, than a restaurant. I mean your dinner will be ready not within 30-40 minutes after your order, but around the usual dinner time customary here. I general it's good value for money!

There was a constant bad odor in our room, which we honestly reported the host about at checkout.

The stay was disappointing despite a nice host and convenient location. The room was fairly clean but poorly maintained, and lacked privacy due to a window opening into a common area. The entrance to the riad was cramped and dark, and the bathroom had a persistent mold smell, making the atmosphere uncomfortable. Additionally, despite the booking mentioning card payment, we were asked to pay in cash.

We have visited several riads but this one is honestly THE BEST. Delicious breakfast, very nice personel, clean and cosy. Very comfortable beds. Perfect location and parking very close (and cheap). Do not hesitate as you will not regret it!!!
