We loved the location. Easy to walk to Pontocho Park at night for dinner. Nearby to other attractions. Close to bus stops and stations. Well appointed accommodation. Very convenient to have a washing machine. Comfortable.

Die Gastgeber sind in jeder Hinsicht außergewöhnlich freundlich gewesen. Sie haben extrem schnell auf Chat-Anfragen reagiert (wenige Minuten), haben unser Gepäck bereits vor unserer Ankunft entgegengenommen (wir haben dieses via Yamato verschickt), haben uns kostenfrei Wasserflaschen und extrem viele Handtücher zur Verfügung gestellt. Ebenso haben sie uns am dritten Tag den Müll ausgeleert und von sich aus unser Geschirr abgewaschen. Die einzelnen Zimmer waren sehr sauber. Die Klimaanlage hat gut fürs Heizen funktioniert. Direkt auf der anderen Straßenseite ist eine Bushaltestelle in die eine Richtung und die Haltestelle für die entgegengesetzte Richtung ist nur 2 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Ebenso ist auf der anderen Straßenseite eine Wäscherei mit Waschmaschinen und Trocknern. Wir haben diese auch verwendet und können sie ebenso empfehlen.

Die Suite im ersten Obergeschoss ist zwar sehr geräumig, aber die Küche, das Badezimmer-Waschbecken und die Dusche / Toilettentür sind direkt mit der Treppe zum Gebäudeingang verbunden. Die zwei Schlafzimmer sind jeweils durch eine eigene Tür vom Treppenhaus getrennt und das 1. Schlafzimmer. Der Treppenbereich selbst ist allerdings nicht durch eine Tür vom restlichen Haus getrennt. Geht man also vom Schlafzimmer zur Dusche oder Toilette muss man auf den Gang des Treppenbereichs, auf den theoretisch auch die Bewohner des zweiten Zimmers Zugriff haben. Dadurch fühlte sich das Badezimmer für uns fast wie ein „shared-bathroom“ an, selbst wenn man es nicht wirklich mit jemandem teilt. Vielleicht sind wir da aber auch etwas zu empfindlich. Wir hatten leider übersehen, dass nur das Zimmer im Erdgeschoss eine eigene Waschmaschine hat. Aber wie erwähnt, hat die Wäscherei gegenüber auch gut funktioniert. Aus diesen zwei Gründen würden wir das nächste Mal auf jeden Fall lieber das Zimmer im Erdgeschoss probieren.

Very friendly staff, they showed us how to use everything and gave us complimentary water. They took our bags earlier than our check in time too.

We had to check in slightly later than expected due to cleaning time. The biggest issue for me was no privacy from the top floor and the bottom floor. There is a small curtain that separates the floors and there are gaps so you can see when people are behind the curtain. Also, the main lights for the house controlled both upstairs and downstairs so whenever we wanted to lights on, it would also affect the people upstairs. Upstairs footsteps were prominent.

Clean, and we got the ground floor, so we had the fully equipped kitchen. Room and bathroom were very spacious. Loved the tatami style room. Neighbourhood was quiet, which we appreciated Host provided free water and umbrellas to use Very near bus stop Very near some attractions like Zoo, Musuem, Heian Jingu, fairly walkable to Philosophers path side of things, fairly walkable to Kyoto gyoen Very near an Aeon grocer (closes at 10pm) Had a few tasty and very local food options nearby (ramen, udon, teishoku) Very responsive and helpful host (Also a disclaimer for future guests, so the unit is basically a house, like a house-sharing, where you can either get the ground floor or the upper floor. There are no "physical doors" separating the 2, and its mostly a "gentleman's agreement" to not mess with each others spaces. You do get a key to lock your main bedroom, but the other spaces in theory can be accessed by other guests too. We got used to it eventually, but if you are someone who absolutely needs their own space then it could be off-putting)

No 24hr konbini nearby, not many food options nearby Pretty far from main attractions, but the bus is convenient, and we used a taxi to get to kyoto station anyway
