Dar Aida

Il Riad è bello e accogliente, il personale gentile e disponibile, la camera silenziosa e il letto matrimoniale comodo. Ho apprezzato soprattutto che la camera fosse finestrata, se pur con affaccio sulla corte interna, e il lavandino del bagno con vasca grande, a differenza degli altri Riad in cui sono stata.

Per quanto si trovi nella medina in posizione buona, è adiacente al mercato ortofrutticolo che è un po' defilato rispetto alle strade principali più turistiche.

Abbiamo soggiornato a Dar Aida durante il nostro viaggio a Rabat e l’esperienza è stata complessivamente positiva. Il riad è molto carino, curato e accogliente. Il personale è gentile e disponibile. La camera era ampia, ma risultava piuttosto umida. Durante il soggiorno si è verificato un episodio insolito: al rientro in stanza abbiamo trovato un uccellino all’interno. Il personale è intervenuto prontamente per aiutarci a farlo uscire e ha provveduto anche a pulire la polvere caduta dal tetto durante l’operazione. Nonostante questo piccolo imprevisto, ricordiamo il soggiorno con piacere.

Great location close to the mains street in the Medina, also great breakfast that keeps you going the whole day! Very Cosy vibe in the whole place aswell, the rooftop was also i nice hangout spot. It looks alot beter in Reality than inte the pictures

The regular man who runs it was fine, the young girl that greeted us wasn't. Breakfast was very good. It''s in the Medina if you want that at night. It was clean and once the manager realised there was an issue he did attempt to address it and refunded half the booking cost, helped us get a taxi etc. This would be a one star review if he hadnt been so kind.

We arrived late at night off the fez train, went through the windy eerie streets for 15 minutes to be met by a locked door and no response from 2 phone numbers on it. Fifteen minutes later a youngish woman came up the eerie long ally ( photographed in the day, at night it was bad) and said nothing, haphazardly gave us the wifi code and a set of keys. Then another lady turned up a little concerned at my annoyed whatsapp messages and showed us our freezing cold room (communal area was dark and also cold, nobody else was staying there). We asked where to get food(any food, tajine, chips, a mars bar even anything) she said turn left outside. Looking on maps 'left' was meaningless in the maze so we asked the younger girl as we left who despite showing her an online map and asking 'where are bars and restaurants' zoomed in hummed and hawed then flatly said 'I don't know'. We found a restaurant down two further scary alley ways charging 40 euro for 2 tajines and coffee. On arriving back the key didn't work, it was sticking and took ten minutes to work. When mentioned on whatsapp the replies were about a driver the next day in French. As my partner was leaving the next day id visions of some creepy following me up the lane,using a faulty key or phoning numbers that take forever to get a response...not very safe. I was then electrocuted by the heater, my partner was the following morning. Room was to be on ground level, I've bad knees it was up stairs. TV was as pictured, fictional. Wifi didn't work (yet ironically you need data package to enter the building find your way anywhere) My partner intended leaving and I'd stay, I didn't, I left with him. The area is noted as problematic in Google searches mainly at night. Unlike fes, essouira, agadir or marrakech it's not touristy enough to feel safe in the Medina without the issues in the accomodation.

We got a free upgrade to Dar Alia operated by the same crew. Both Riads are very close to the city centre yet in quiet streets. The provided typical Moroccan breakfast was excellent and the crew was very friendly, eager to help with every question.
