Toiyabe Motel

The Toiyabe Motel is a quaint, late 1950s motor hotel in a beautiful, rural area. The rooms reflect this with the original wood paneling. Our room was quiet which can be a challenge with these vintage properties that are intentionally built near the highway. Since our last stay, the floors carpets have been replaced with hard floors which is a pro for us. The mattress was really comfortable.

While I understand these old school rooms with wood paneling can be a challenge to clean, it was obvious that only minimal cleaning has been done for an extended period. There was mud on the bathroom floor left from previous tenants. The towels looked like they came from the thrift store down the street. We didn’t bother to discuss this with the person at the check-in kiosk whose main goal was to interact with guests as little as possible.

The price was cheaper than other motels in the area room was clean and comfortable. The front desk guy was friendly and helpful especially when we needed directions to a local restaurant. The location was convenient, right off the highway Our only minor issue was that the guest next door was having a party so there was a little noise but it wasn’t a major problem. Overall, we would recommend this motel and would stay here again

No breakfast

My wife and I really liked the wooden room. We booked it for one night and then added another night. Our room and bathroom were super clean. It’s a nice place, close to nature, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly they let us use their kitchen for cooking and even gave us milk tea, which was awesome! I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back.

Check in was easy. Bed was clean. Good place to walk the dog.

Could have been cleaner. Lots of dust, stains on carpet, bathroom rug literally stuck to the floor. Shower curtain dirty. Room was warm when I checked in. Never got any warmer even after raising thermostat. One comforter... I was cold half the night.

We went to Walker for fishing. It’s a very small town, and our experience was wonderful a beautiful and quiet place. The room was clean and had all the basic amenities. The WiFi worked well, and the motel even had a place to clean the fish. A barbecue facility was also available. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others
