Bagas Luxury Camp

Remoteness, cleanliness staff and food.

A flysheet got ripped during the night, and the flapping and metal scratching was not only dangerous but noisy. I managed to secure it at about 4 am. I understand that it was just high winds, but there was no staff on the property to contact.That concerned me. What of the emergency was fire?

Fabulous location with stunning view to the vulcano and the lake below. Great layout so despite the cold night, the space in front of the room is sheltered so it's possible to sit outside at night. And then walk up the stairs in the morning to be blown away by the view and enjoy breakfast served same place - absolute fantastic. A very nice detail was the tasty tea and snack being served to the room right after check-in. Very good dinner which was even better thanks to wonderful soft bossanova music. I very much liked my cosy room which had window in direction of the sunrise. Staff was very pleasant. One of the most unique places I've ever stayed - loved it!

The view from bagas camp is amazing. we can see mount Sindoro and Menjer Lake from Bagas Camp.

Access road to Bagas camp is gravel and narrow. You need a guidance from Bagas camp when you stay there.

THE ACCES SO BAD 😭

I like the bedroom, and the view was luxury with panoramic view of lake and mountain.

We came in a group of 10 people. There were only 3 bedrooms that could accomodate 8 people. The rooms were good.

2 more people had to stay in a tent. Luckily , it did not rain.

The main pros of this place is: 1) the amazing view over the lake 2) quiet location (though during Ramadan there is a lot of activity coming from various mosques) 3) the staff / manager provides amazing service - really helps you organise your itinerary and was so attentive and caring. Went above and beyond! 4) food was good

1) cabins were very small (we could barely fit our luggage in there) and pretty basic 2) location - although a beautiful view - the location is pretty isolated. It’s a decent trek to the village of lake menjer. The road in the last km was pretty bumpy and very narrow. A 2WD can make it up and the resort can pick you up at the lake menjer car park. If you don’t have a car (which we didn’t) they can organise private tours to wonosobo and dieng plateau.
