Cabin was clean

Reviews mentioned that the toilets and showers needed an upgrade. I'd agree. Compared to the obvious investment in (very attractive) cabins, art and decorative detail, it seems incongruous to have so few facilities for such a large (dense) site. I can't imagine what it is like in the high season! Reviews also mentioned the lack of information about facilities on the website. I'd agree. I couldn't find out for example, whether the kitchen had plates and cutlery. There was a cupboard, but very few plates and hardly any cutlery. On leaving, I noticed that plates and kitchen equipment could be hired. Fair enough, but it's a bit late to discover things like that on arrival, so I'm not sure why there isn't more info on the website? We could easily have brought our own, but camp kitchens usually have the basics. I don't know how the large group of young people cooking in the small kitchen found enough plates to eat from and would have had to share one fork and knife!! I realise that the lack of equipment in the kitchen is probably due to visitors taking stuff to their cabins, but the wonderful Hospice op shop in Turangi has PLENTY of second hand plates and cutlery. If not that one, then another. It's a really beautiful site, with pretty accommodation, so it seems such a shame to let the side down with these points. I'd stay there again, but I'd take my own plates and cutlery, and probably make do with the toilet and shower. As per other reviews, the water ran scalding hot - extremely dangerous, I'd say, for kids. Or humans in general. I didn't have too much trouble keeping the temperature bearable in the shower, but it wasn't a busy time. I imagine with others running hot water in the other showers and kitchen it might have been erratic. The signs on the showers (male/female) seemed open to interpretation.

Lovely quirky Combi van styled cabin. Well done and comfortable. Even had a view.

Great spot great views and the owners were super helpful.

The ablution block was slightly older but was cleaned regularly and the owners have just started to build a brand new block with kitchen facilities as well.

Good cabin, outside of Turangi. It was clean, comfortable and had all facilities we needed for a short stay
