Thurman's Lodge

this place is no gem, but I've definitely seen much MUCH worse. the staff is friendly, the room is always clean and the rate definitely worth it. they have a pool, although Everytime we come it is closed but it was also chilly so wasn't looking to swim so didn't matter. they do have a fire place which has came in handy Everytime we stay. Located right down the street from the main strip, very worth to money to us. we will definitely be back on our next trip to Eureka!

I knew this wasn't a 5 star hotel when I made the reservation. My room was an extremely clean, non smoking room, the bathroom was spotless, and the air conditioner worked like a dream. I was able to park my car in front of my room, which for me, is a plus. I was on the bottom floor and couldn't hear anyone above me as I watched television on a new flat screen TV with plenty of channels to chose from. I got to keep my beverages in a mini fridge that was provided for me while enjoying the free wi fi. My room also featured a sofa with a pull out bed, a coffee table and a pub table with two chairs. My stay was very comfortable and affordable.

I'm not going to bash this place like most of these reviews have done. The woman and son I believe were nice. We booked this as a last resort on a last minute weekend get away. It wasn't horrible. But it wasn't the local scene I'm used to. We stay in eureka once or two times every year. I've stayed several places all different from one another and never had a bad thing to say. This one I wouldn't recommend for trying to enjoy your stay. We stayed in a tent the next night happily a few miles down the road. But if you are on a budget and need a place to stay it's there. And for 70 it's not worth it in our opinion.

Stayed here for one night. The place needed updating and repairs. The carpet was old. Beds like cardboard. For the price, I could have reserved a room at a nicer place for example, Best Western. The location is closed to the downtown area. It was also very noisy. I'm really glad we did not reserve more than one night. We had to go eat breakfast elsewhere.

We stay in Eureka Springs about 1-2 times per month. On our last visit, our preferred motel (Matterhorn Towers) was booked so we went through Priceline and booked Thurman's Lodge. We have seen the place many times and knew the location was better than other available options during Blues Fest Weekend -- most were fully booked. We did pay more than normal due to the demand for the weekend. The location is next door to "Grub and Pub" which is a place we often frequent late at night for a drink before heading to the motel and a quick bite to eat. The motel has never looked that inviting, but I've learned many of the motels on the main highway are pretty much the same inside. Unlike many motels in Eureka, they actually had soap and shampoo in the bathroom. And not just the "soap" chips but small bars of soap. That was a plus. There were also plenty of towels and make up removal wash clothes. The flooring was recently replaced in the bathroom area. We had a room with 2 beds which included a small table with chairs, dresser, and TV. I can't recall now, but I don't think it was a flat screen TV; We did not watch it so I really don't recall. I'm also now uncertain if there was a small fridge or not. I think not. Our room overlooked the parking lot and pool. We did have a short swim in the pool late at night. It was refreshing after a long day in the heat. The sheets were new, nothing special. I did notice stains on the bottom mattresses where it looks like people have knocked over their beverage off the nightstand. I'm not sure why they don't have bed skirts or something to prevent that. Oh well. We also had a hole in the bathroom. Again, not a hard thing to patch so it surprises me they don't take care of that right away. You do have to lower your expectations for these older hotels. There are very few "nice" motel or hotels in town. If this motel were in other tourist locations, I would probably classify it as more of a dump. But compared to other motels in the immediate area, it falls in line. The front desk staff were friendly as well as housekeeping. There was an ice machine right outside our room. They also have some chairs outside the rooms. There is free wifi in the room, ask the front desk for the code. The A/C unit was cold with no issues but the typical noise. Overall, I still have not replaced my favorite Matterhorn, but I would stay here again if Matterhorn is booked. The location is better than motels further down the strip for about the same room. It is closer to the road downtown. There is also a trolley stop nearby. I'm not sure I'll pay the $90 bucks again for the place, but then again, that is dependent upon local demand and if all is equal price wise with other places, then I might. If I called, I imagine I would have received better pricing. It was just easier to book online.

we"re waiting for an apartment to open up. we moved into thurman's lodge and since living there for a week or 2, we started to notice our 4yr old son getting sick. days later hes getting worse. I inspected the room a little more carefully and noticed black mold behind the night stand, and the ceiling-,well i lifted up the ceiling tiles and there are the old sewer lines for the upper floor, rusty, leaky, and stain on the tiles. nasty musky smell has also become much more noticeable. I informed management and asked to be moved to the upper levels, they say they cant do anything, but give the rest of my money back and I can leave. how does that work out??? i am opening up an investigation with the arkasas health department on Thurman's lodge for unsafe living conditions and health code violations. my son never gets sick and hes been sick since we moved in and my wife is starting to get sick as well.

This time is was the 11th Annual Chocolate Festival. We stayed on the treed side of the motel this time and is was very clean & quiet. Still a great place to stay. We trekked across the parking lot and ate at the PUB & GRUB. Regular bar food, but the staff was so nice we actually ate 3 meals there. Breakfast is a good value.

Stayed for 2 nights Aug 29 & 30th, 2 couples, we had 2 rooms downstairs in back. Back of hotel has trees behind it, picnic tables and chairs by door, could hardly hear the traffic, and the hotel drive is right off a main road. Older hotel so everything is not new, but it was CLEAN, owners are very nice! Breakfast is cereal, juice, coffee, prepackaged donuts, muffins, but that worked for us. Only thing I found lacking is there is no coffee pot in room, and beds were kind of hard but I'm used to my memory foam mattress, so that may be part of it, even the Hampton I stayed at in june was not that comfortable a bed. We plan to stay again in a couple months and would recommend to my friends and family. Pool looked nice but didn't use it, it is to the side of the parking lot. They are also Biker friendly!

A bunch of us rode into Eureka Springs on motorcycles. Wasn't quite sure what to think with the reviews on this hotel. A few of the bunch had stayed there last fall. The new owners are trying very hard to making everyones's stay great. It's not fancy - but they try to make everyone happy. we sat outside our rooms every night. Not once did they ever tell us to quite down or go back in our rooms. They visited with us, some did not know a lot of english but were trying. They have a linen service for cleaning sheets and towels. The service probably could do a better job with cleaning the sheets and towels. The rooms are very sound proof, I would go to bed and never heard the laughter. They have coffee, OJ, friut, muffins, & cereal for breakfast. I would certainly stay there again - the pricing is good.

After reading some of the past reviews, I wasn't so sure about staying here! But when we got there, the owners were very pleasant, offered us coolers for our rooms, they walked the premises at night to check on everyone, and stayed to chat. Rooms were clean.
